He DID get drafted. 5th round.

Sorry, I thought I read he went UDFA.

Where's that poster that claimed Bridge would be a mid-round draft pick earlier in the year?
All the measurables, no accuracy.

As a Cowboys fan I'm cringing that we picked up Brandon Bridge. If he can be taught he doesn't have to throw the ball 100 mph every play then maybe he could develop.

as far as our App guys, I think Lamm has the best chance at a roster spot. Ross is maybe. depends on how bad the Cowboys secondary is
Says the guy who didn't seem him play live at all and knows more than the GM of the Panthers.
Yeah, he'll be ST and they want him in a backup LB role, as well. That may be all he ever gets but I think he has more potential than you obviosuly do. However, he was drafted and will likely be on an NFL roster. Not bad for the kid.
I find your comment condescending.
PS - we had 2 guys go UDFA in 2013. They both made their teams' rosters and both play every game. No ranking, no reports, just a pro day. You just don't know.
I may be mistaken, but he may be commenting more on the 3 or 4 guys in front of him, rather than dissing on Mayo. Kuechly, Thomas Davis, and Shaq Thompson are going to be the starters and AJ Klein, formerly All Big 12, is the top backup. It's one of the best, if not the best, linebacking corps in the NFL.

The big knock (from what I read only cursory on the Panther board) is that Davis cannot stay healthy.
Honestly, haven't done the research to see if that's true or not. But if it is, that would, in theory, put Mayo in position to be the backup of the backup, which the primary backup will be playing aplenty.
But hell, the kid could flame out in camp. Or, he could end up having a tremendous camp and someone offers a 4th for him, putting him on another squad and in line to start. It can go either way.

Gettleman likes Mayo a lot, says he's an aggressive hitter. Davis hasn't been injured much the past two seasons, but he's recovered from 2 torn ACL's in his career and he's getting up there in age.

TXST gets a little shout out from Dave Campbell's

-How about Texas State? Before this weekend, the Bobcats hadn’t had a player drafted since 2006…then, Craig Mager and David Mayo got drafted on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Pretty impressive.

Off topic here but Davis is a prime example of college recruitment missing on great talent. Kid had a partial offer to Grambling and that is it. UGA's basketball coach saw him and told Mark Richt to check him out. Played on a terrible single A team and never got noticed except for a chance encounter with a college basketball coach.

Mayo should make the roster because Carolina lacks depth at Linebacker. Carolina spent two of their five draft picks on linebackers. Shaq Thompson, their first round choice, is undersized at 228 pounds. In college he played at 220. He could easily play safety. Thomas Davis is 235 pounds. Mayo is also 235 pounds. They like smaller athletic linebackers. Mayo should fit in well here.
If Mayo had a tremendous camp, they would never let him go. No team is going to offer a 4th round pick without having seen him play in a real NFL season. I don't see him getting cut. He is a perfect backup/special teams linebacker for Carolina as a rookie.

RE: SBC > NFL
For USA you need to add CB Montell Garner, UDFA for the Rams.
