RE: CIT/CBI
Sam Houston State played out of a weak conference (Southland) but at # 82 RPI their resume was nearly NIT-worthy. 3 of their 4 losses in Southland play were to eventual champ Stephen F. Austin (who earned a 12-seed in the NCAA's). Their other was a 2 point loss on the road against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

The Bearkats also played 4 top-100 RPI games outside of the Southland. They lost to Wofford and LSU by 9+ pts but also played UNLV and Texas A&M tough on the road, losing those 2 games by a combined 5 points. Their best win was at home, a 76-52 drubbing of Eastern Washington (23-8, # 74 RPI).

This is about as tough a matchup as you could get in a tournament like this.

They may have been an nit team had the nit not had to give out 12 auto bids. Will be a very good challenge for us

An article from the Sam Houston State athletics site stated UNCW finished third in the CAA regular season.

Arguably the toughest match up in the tourney. NPI #38. And it appears they defend their home court well.

I saw the draw and couldnt believe SHSU wasnt in the NIT. Tough, tough draw. Of the field I think Sam Houston would be my favorite to win the tournament. Goodluck though.

As of now this is looking to be a radio only game. Watchcollegeinsider.com is listing most of the cit games for Webcast on their site but not ours

I was a little surprised at our draw compared to JMU's.

Doesn't matter now though. Time to go get another good road win!

They have NEU Lion, but can't tell yet if they're going to have a live feed or not. It'll be worth checking come game time on Wednesday.

If we beat Sam Houston St Wednesday night, we'll host a game Saturday (Mar 21) @ 7 PM. Opponent TBD (CIT matchups round to round are not based on a straight up bracket).

Watchcollegeinsider.com has 15 of the 16 games listed. Guess which one is missing. Hopefully ours will be added

I would love to see the process of getting this tournament together. Organized chaos at its finest. Would love to know how we got matched up with one of the highest ranked teams in the tournament in the 1st round

RE: CIT/CBI
It apparently had nothing to do with RPI. UNCW (146) vs Sam Houston State (82). JMU (148) vs SC Upstate (209).

RE: CIT/CBI
Hadn't really thought much of these tournaments in the past. But now that we're in one, and so is JMU and Hofstra, i'm glad we're all going.

The CAA needs to get back to multi-bids and hopefully back to three bids. What these invites mean is that these schools are serious about basketball. We now have the top 5 teams for the CAA participating in some from of a post season tournament. This can only help the coaches and teams with their play, their recruiting, their coaching, and their experience.

I have to say that i'm proud to see these CAA teams walking the walk when it comes to getting this conference back on track. Bravo!

Now, let's all go out and show that we can compete!
