RE: ECU
hey everyone. Good to be back on here, and especially good to watch the Hawks take down ecu yesterday. I registered on this site almost two weeks ago and they finally approved my account.
Go Hawks!

RE: ECU
Ok, so at a computer and can give a bit more. First off, ECU isn't good. Now that i got that out of the way.
Positives:
-Love love loved Talley and how he handled the press
-Freddie looks like a different player out there and his jumper has significantly improved.
- Chuck and CJ significantly hamper shots in the lane, also this allows Big Ced to play the 4 which is great.
-Love the press. Even if its token pressure at times, it still puts added pressure on the offense.
Negatives:
- We have to do a better job of guarding the three, specifically on the wings. Far too many wide open shots on the wing, and this is entirely why this wasn't a 20+ point blowout.
-FREE THROWS!!! Loved to see Chuck step up at the end and make some key free throws, but overall it was pretty bad.
- Need to penetrate more! Especially against a zone, wasn't much penetration in the lane. Most of the pressure came from our big guys attacking misses.
I have to say, overall came away form this game impressed for the most part, and can say without a doubt, barring key injuries there is not a chance in heck this is a last place team in the CAA!!!

Thanks man. It's me (Cleveland). Figured I'd change my name since I'm no longer in Cleveland and what not. Not sure why I went with that name when I made that other account anyways.
Also... our Hawks are looking mighty improved this year!!

RE: ECU
Okay, now to post on the game since I was able to watch it (I absolutely love the free on-line games this year!)...
1. CJ Gettys reminds me of Aaron Coombs. His inside game, especially. I remember it took Coombs a while to get used to the speed of the game in terms of using his hands/body. Gettys missed a few point blank layups, and two of those were back to back after getting his own rebound. If you're wide-open and 7 feet tall, dunk the friggin thing!!! He's only a sophomore, and he's already showed a lot of improvement. I'm confident he'll continue to improve.
2. Talley. Absolutely love this guy. Like hoops said, his press breaking ability was beautiful and we'll need that come CAA play. His confidence is unmatched too. Love that.
3. Freddie. He's absolutely improved a ton from the few games I watched last year. He's improved his ball handling and his shots.
4. Sherwood. Not sure what it was the other day, but he looked outmatched against ECU. It's only the 2nd game I've seen so far this year, but he had trouble keeping up with those bigger ECU guards. I think when we play some teams with smaller guards he'll be able to use his length a little more.
5. Malik Pugh. He didn't play an awful lot against ECU, but what I've seen so far I've liked a lot. He's a bit smaller, but his speed, handle, and confidence remind me of TJ Carter. Hope to continue to see good things from this kid.
Overall, I really like where Keatts has taken us already. Good things appear to be just around the corner. The winning attitude switch has already started and you can see the guys feeding off of each other's confidence. The energy and demeanor that Keatts brings to the team has been a long time coming.

RE: ECU
Sherwood has an ankle problem and I think it has hindered his game.

Oh nice! In that case, welcome back! Hadn't seen you around, even months before the Zone went up in flames.

I was busy with work and all that, just got back from being on a ship for about 2 months. Now I'm here to stay. What happened to the Zone anyways? How did that fall apart?

The board went down for the entire summer and only came back online a little before the basketball season started. When it returned and you logged in you were spammed with ads. Seemed wise to move on, even though they fixed some of the issues. I think we all made a good decision. I like it here better.

I agree. I'm a fan of these boards already. Plus, there's so many more options to post in. I can go heckle other conferences from here. Amber Bryant could only have dreamed about a setup like this!

RE: ECU
The CAA Zone is run by guys whose school is no longer in the CAA. Plus other schools' fans had long abandoned that site. When their site went down for a couple of months, I think they were more or less done.
