This is why I'm on this forum: for the news (although this is bad news).

Scratched eyeball? He can be given antibiotic drops. I assume his vision is blurry. Hope nothing worse.

(I remember the time when my ophthalmologist's son was in the office. He got a scratched eyeball playing and needed antibiotic drops).
Ya I hope that it is something drops can handle.

In other news Tim Bond said that he won't be playing until the end of this month. That is longer than the original diagnosis we all had. I wonder how much conditioning he has been able to get since the injury. I'm sure lots of biking and cardio that stabilizes his arm/hand.

Btw, sounds like a scratched cornea. Have to be careful there is no detached retina.

we have the injuries at guard. We have depth but not unlimited depth.

RE: Game Week: UofM
Before I sound too selfish, I want to say I hope Lee the person gets better and that the injury is not too severe. You don't want anything too serious with eye sight is involved.

With that said, I am bummed Lee the basketball player is out. That hurts EMU a lot. I am not so worried about UM since I was expecting a loss- they are not going to be caught off-guard 2 games in a row. Although, it would have been nice if Lee was in to keep it close at least.

EMU will need him back for the Missouri State game. That is a winnable game with Lee, much less so without Lee.

If Lee is out does Murphy go with a small backcourt of Talley and Alvano? Maybe Jodan Price plays more 2 than 3? Maybe Trent Perry gets a chance to get hot from deep. We need to find 15-20 points from somewhere to keep this one close.

We have said that our depth is a strength, tonight that we be tested.

Would love to see this game played a few weeks from now with a healthy Lee and Bond.

No real reason for him to play until the Mac season maybe he can surprise other players then?

Actually, re-reading Ray's Tweet I have no idea if he has a problem or just 'go see the eye doc (for precautions).'

I wouldn't be surprised if we overreacted, based on his scary wording 'kicked in the eyeball.' I think Ray and I may use the term 'eyeball' differently - kind of a generational thing.

I'll be in section 136. I know of about 7 or 8 other EMU fans that will in the lower bowl as well.

Looking around Twitter it seems we'll have a pretty decent contingency in Crisler tonight too.

RE: Game Week: UofM
Very insightful column on tonight's game with a HELPFUL UofM perspective.

WE have the advantage of tape: UofM vs. 'Cuse. I assume that UofM will try to 'do unto EMU what they did unto Syracuse" so we have advantage of having seen UofM play the Boeheim-Murphy zone.

UofM has a weird schedule:

This game should be a 'trap' game before Zona, but UofM got 'trapped' the game before (NJIT) the 'trap' game (EMU).

I have no idea which UofM team will show tonight...

RE: Game Week: UofM
The last time I saw an EMU game in Ann Arbor, I remember leaving with the idea that we got hosed by the officials. But it was in a more subtle way than the Flyers game. They seemed to set the tone of the game early issuing shooting fouls to key players. Then later in the second half non-shooting fouls were awarded to M players. In the end, the number of fouls seemed to balance out. That may not have been the case, but that's the way I remember it. See if this happens tonight.

Appears we (and I) overreacted about Raven. Is warming up and looks fine.

Pretty brutal start. Turnovers and missed shots. Hopefully the "Mike Talley off the bench" experiment ends by MAC play.

Very good start defensively though. Michigan is settling for a lot of forced 3's.

Ugly game. Though the 'Price is Right.'

Who is going to say: "Glad we scheduled UofM, and not NJIT." Lol.

Gotta shoot better. And I don't trust the refs in games like this.

RE: Game Week: UofM
Down 2 at half. Been horrible offensively. Been great defensively and on the glass (I don't think Michigan had one offensive rebound). Gotta start making the easy shots and stop turning the ball over, and we'll have a shot at pulling this off.
