Does that say attendance 1,941? WTF I go to high school games with double that.

We need to just invite Liberty and get it over with. If EKU can only bring 1900 to a playoff game, I just cant see reasonable proof that they could handle FBS.

Who is Liberty and would they be a good addition to the Sunbelt?

I watched this game on ESPN Gameplan. Liberty dominated the 2nd half. They ended up with a time of possession advantage of 39 minutes to 21 minutes, despite four turnovers.

To beat JMU on the road and App State on the road in the same season is quite an accomplishment for Liberty. It may not change anything, but they do look like they can compete in the SBC.

Thanks for the thought Chief. LU has improved it's appeal with the JMU win.

What a game! Would love to play more sun belt programs, hopefully in conference play.

I think Liberty would have won 3 games in the SBC this year. They would not have been the worst team, they wouldn't beat App if they played today. I'm glad they helped our team find rock bottom though.

I think they beat Troy, Idaho, NMSU, and GSU this year for sure. A couple others on the right day (See App State)

I don't think the level of play of their teams, facilities, donations is holding them back. But let's try and stay out of that rabbit hole.

I have not ever been opposed to LU joining. Great facilities and enough money to buy the US government. If they pull off a deep playoff run we should have an invite at their president's doorstep the day after their season is over.

Sam Houston State looks like its going to beat Jacksonville State. So much for that #4 ranking.

NDSU is tied at half with SDSU...and No they are not an SBC target, I just find it interesting.

I can't see winning in the FCS playoffs getting rid if the reservations that Liberty brings.

If it means we get to end our debate with ULL then I'm cool with it.

RE: OT: SBC Targets in FCS Playoffs
Couple of comments....

1. Anyone who finds themselves in a coaching search should consider Russ Huesman at Chattanooga. They were an FCS laughing stock for a while but now they are playing well enough that I don't think anyone on their half of the bracket can beat them.

2. At least if we are (the Belt) going to have a top team lose to an FCS team it's one that can actually do something in the playoffs. Of course, the Belt will probably still get mocked for App's loss to Liberty while CUSA will get a pass for their west division champion losing to a non-playoff FCS team.

That's degrading. My HS in the 70's had separate soccer and football fields.

RE: OT: SBC Targets in FCS Playoffs
Villanova's first actual drive of the game ends in a fumble at midfield. Liberty ball.

Liberty learned to play defense sometime between the App State game and today.
