Down year for the Mountaineers, but the weather didn't do us any favors either. With the resurgence of the team and some favorable weather I expect crowds to be back in the upper 20's next season.

UNCC - On campus stadium. 27k students. metro area 2.3 million.

How is it incomplete? They've finished two seasons and can't draw 10k fans (they flub numbers as bad a GaSt).

Our numbers are printed weekly in the AJC

Now sit down

3,485 in attendance for GaSt against Tx St. Hard to justify spending tens of millions renovating Turner with numbers like that.
Really kills you that 1) we can 2) we refuse to shut down...lol

Are we really having an attendance smack thread 13 seconds after the season in a conference where nobody has ever had 40k at a game? Yes that would be the rest of FBS pointing and laughing. Really sad guys.

What was the actual for the year vs the 15k then, I'm sure you kept the numbers? How about quitting with the sit down BS, act like a grown man for once.

Yep. This year's home slate featured a thunderstorm game in which the stadium was evacuated, a snow storm game, and a game over Thanksgiving break. Our numbers are impressive, all things considered.

When are you going to stop your life under the bridge troll act? Seriously. If you want the numbers email or tweet Doug. I am sure he will be happy to give you anything that shows us in a negative light. We just went 1-11 after going 0-12 and you want to talk attendance? Do you actually think you could go 1-23 and have more than 3400 people show up? You have not discovered fire here pal. And like I said, SBC attendance talk is a fight for the tallest dwarf trophy. Nobody in this conference has ever had a crowd of 40k much less averaged 30k for a season and its a safe bet that doesnt change any time soon.

My apologies to all of you who are for some reason offended by the fact that we do what many other FBS programs do and work the numbers however we legally can to meet our obligatory minimum. I'll reiterate to those of you pointing out to us that our attendance is bad: You're not telling us anything we don't know, and it still doesn't make us want to drop our program.

My greater apologies to my fellow Panther fans, for I committed the sin of not attending yesterday's game, even though I'm in town. I've spent the last two weeks traveling for work and holidays and enjoyed a day at home with my dogs, watching GSU basketball AND football on the same damn day. It was glorious. I thank all of you who went to the Dome.

We sure did, and with an FCS schedule. Just wait, my little Panther friend.

Why even bother with an attendance thread when EVERYONE knows its total BS.

Doesnt anyone else find it amazing that ga. St. Needed 15,000 and ended the year with 15,009.
lol.

Why do you comment on a thread only to get your panty twisted. You brought up the numbers, let's see them.

You seem to like bragging about your bball program, yet think programs shouldn't discuss attendance and even make light of it. Attendance is very important to our level of football, someday you will understand.

We're not talking 40k here, we're talking 3,485. Just making an observation that it does not seem prudent to spend tens of millions of dollars on a stadium renovation.

If I were a GaSt fan and the rent is reasonable, I'd love to play in the new Falcons stadium, especially given the curtain system for MLS that makes it look like 30k.

We had 5000 students there tonight. Impressive for a holiday weekend.

Given two weekday games and a Thanksgiving weekend home game I am pleasantly surprised. I remember during the playoffs it was a ghost town that weekend and I made every home playoff game from 98-01. One weekday game and away Thanksgiving game and I can see that go up quite a bit next year.

If I'm not mistaken, this is our highest average attendance ever. It's probably due to our weak schedule though.
