No. We would be expelled from C-USA the moment football is dropped.

I was about to post the same thing. But maybe CUSA tries to drop another program and get down to 12

Is there an agency above the Board of Trustees? If not, who 'runs' Auburn, Troy, etc?
Troy runs Troy and no one else.. Same for auburn. Same for USA
UAB is apart of the university of Alabama system
Who controls how the public funds are distributed?
The reason I ask is that my only direct experience is in Georgia. Here there is one entity called the Board of Regents controls the entire university system. Every schools administration answers to the BOR.
I was wondering if there was an entity like that in Alabama, but it doesn't sound like it.

No, sometimes vultures circle well before the target actually expires. People better get over to the CUSA board and start pimping just in case.

I don't know anything about that to be honest... But all I know is no one but Troy is in control of Troy
Alabama has no control over our programs like they do Uab

I said a long time ago the needed to figure out how to get out from under the ua bot.
Everyone knows ua isnt gonna ever let uab do well. If they could they would end football at every other school in alabama too.

RE: OT Alabama to end UAB football after 2016?
Unfortunately governor Bentley is friends with Bryant Jr. Even if the governor appointed the trustees of the system it still wouldn't go our way. UA controls the law school and the lawmakers. UAB inherently has very few friends in Montgomery.
There is no way the program is going anywhere, but this is just going to kill any positive momentum going forward. This is about recruiting and keeping Clark. It would make a few UA trustees and fans very happy to see UAB end up with a deadbeat coach again and for Coach Clark to be the head coach somewhere else after this year.
In response to RamblinRedWolf:
After seeing Jimbo Fisher deal with Jameis Winston at FSU, I'd actually rather have not gotten him as our head coach. I'd rather lose with moral coaches than win with cheaters.
Cheifsfan: Mcgee was a dead man walking. He wouldn't have been here after 2014 no matter what. It was a win-win for him and UAB. Mcgee is not head coaching material. He deserves to tote the jock strap of Bobby Petrino. They deserve each other.

Sucks.
Publicity is self inflicted. Not sure how Bear Jr is going to kill UAB football in 2016'when he goes off the Board in December when he reaches mandatory retirement.

Those were my thoughts exactly. Tough to attract talent when the kid can't be sure the program will even be around.

Made for a bad headline but I figured most UAB fans consider it a great stroke luck.

You can believe it or not. Ua worries about every school in alabama. Ask the troy st or usa fans when they're gonna play alabama. Youll find the answer is never.

You preaching to the choir on that chief, trying being in a state with only 1 school in power. However, I don't for 1 second think that les miles or anyone else at lsu thinks we could take 1 of the 25-30 recruits they want every year. They would never admit to wanting a kid that would go to UL.

Not saying this is likely anytime soon. But what if the play off were expanded to 16 teams in the future and Troy or usa made it in... Would Alabama refuse to play them in playoffs?
