I figure Rhett Lashlee would be on that list somewhere. It would be foolish for him not to be. Knows the Sun Belt, has coached in Alabama for most of his career, runs a popular offense.

Umm all this didn't just happen this week. It started many weeks back.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

I'm just stating announcement like this usually happen in bye weeks... I'm sure it's something that has been discussed weeks ago.

Some really bad names bouncing around. Reminds me of Ron Turner at FIU. Not a fan of retreats. Usually a good reason why they are available.

Houston Nutt could be interesting. If it was my choice to make, I'd stay clear of Chizick.

Nutt would be a dumpster fire. Though I doubt he gets offered or wants that job. He made it very clear he doesn't want our job, despite the fact we were never interested in him.

Here is an interesting name but not sure he as aspirations for a DI coaching job though.

Alcorn State's Jay Hopson.

He has done wonders at Alcorn State. He has turned a dumpster fire into a proud program again in 2 years. His 1st year he was 4-7, last year 9-3 and this year 5-1 with the only loss coming to Southern Miss 26-20.

I think they'd be crazy not to at least interview Will Hall. 30-11 in his 4th year as a head coach in Division II. Won the Gulf South Conference at West Alabama the last two years. Moved to West Georgia this year and is currently 5-0.

I dont think we go that route. Division 2 is much different than FBS.

I think we go after a up and coming assistant at a P5 school if we are being honest.

We did that with our last coach.

Hiring Chizik or Nutt would only run more people away from the program. You think the program is losing support now? Hire one of those losers and see what happens.

fired by Hartwell....Blakeney??? U think hartwell's THAT brave? I believe chancellor Hawkins had more influence with Blakeney. Reason? it's simple...alumni donors threats...

Thankfully Troy is taking the high road much like Florida Atlantic did with Howard Schnellenberger. What Blakney did for Troy cannot be denied and he deserves to go out "retired".

It's sad when the face and father figure of your program has reached the point where he is no longer viable but this is a change that has to be made.

Good luck on your coaching search Troy fans.

Me too! As a fan, a donor, an alumnus, as a student who attended blakeneys very first games @ TROY, I certainly wished he wnt out in top. But this move is most necessary...03-weeping

Hartwell is a business man. He came here to do a job. There has already been a lot of changes since his arrival. He's also Hawkins guy. Dennis was Blakeney's guy. Hawkins isn't nearly as beloved as he once was, and I would even say a lot of people point blame directly and him and members of the foundation.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.
