Is this a serious statement? Look I love what Breida is doing, but to say he may be the best RB in the country is absurd.

Well, at least name a freshman or sophomore that is better.

If you look at the film, the burst he has is incredible. If there is better, I'd like to see it. Granted he is 185, but still.

We saw how McKinnon showed out at the combine and I'd say Breida is better.

Thomas at Oregon destroyed teams at 185, no need for Breida to get heavier. He needs to maintain his speed and his ability.

We have a nice mix with Breida as a speedster who can still run hard and then bigger guys like Ramsby and Days.

I have a question for Georgia Southern fans. Since you've just played both teams, how do you see the matchup between App and USA next weekend?

I would expect a close game in Boone.

If USA hasn't figured it out on offense they could be in for a bad day in Boone

USA is going to struggle against just about any team in the league if they don't get their offense figured out. I'd say that Arkansas State is the only other league team that has a better defense than offense at this point, but our offense is putting up far more than USA is points wise.

USA would have a potent passing attack if their receivers would catch the ball and their running is average to above average. You both have good defenses but both are prone to big plays. Even though Lamb had two INTs last night, he is cool in the pocket, accurate with his throws and can run if need to (just not a runner like Ellison). It would be real tough to call that game. We KNOW you guys from years of playing you but we only have one game with USA recently. If you play USA like you played us last night (same intensity) and limit the penalties and interceptions, I'd say you guys would win.

If USA doesn't improve this weekend (and I mean catch a football or two), I think App wins at home.

Honestly the outcome of this game is all up to USA. If USA's defense can keep pressure on App State's QB while their offense cuts down on the number of incompletes, then USA might just ink out a win. If not, App will run away with the ball and the score and there won't be any stopping them. It's whoever makes the least amount of mistakes in this game.

The league will soon find out you can't make too many errors to come away with a victory at The Rock

Keep seeing post that are saying GSU is a senior laden team. Not the case at all except for the OL. All of our playmakers with the exception of Showers are sophomores and younger. On defense we are extremely young outside of CB.

I was impressed with Ga. Southern play against NC State and Ga Tech but after seeing the App State game, less so. While this is being made into a championship game by some, we need to keep in mind that this was two transitional teams playing. GSU has a good rushing team, was not impressed with the passing game and thought the pass defense lacking but App did not have the game to take advantage of it. App State did not impress at all. They played hard but have a long way to go.

It was a rivalry game.
Last year we were 4-2 going into the game and App was 1-6. They proceeded to beat us by 24 points.
Exactly one month later we took Florida to the woodshed.
Win or lose, it's extremely difficult to assess a team based on how they played against their most heated rival.

That's right Fl.RedWolf, we are a (transitional) team that has played to ACC teams, 1 FCS team & 2 Sun Belt team & are now 3-2. Our current offensive states are>

41 ppg
367 rushing yards
146 passing yards
513 total yards
8.1 yards per play.

RGSU will continue to build on this year & over the next 3 years as we recruit FBS talent.

When we get a good lead in the 2nd half like the USA and App game, we look to control the clock and run the ball. If the game was close, we would be throwing it more.

We have the best OL,RB and QB in the league. Our offense will be fine.

As time goes on Baldy the other SB teams that we play can make a judgment based on first hand experience & knowledge instead of just critiquing a TV game.

Starting defense against App. 5 seniors, 4 juniors and 2 sophomores. That's a veteran unit with lots of starts. One of the two sophs (J Ellison) was playing in place of injured Jr John Battle.

You know, you are right. We have done nothing to impress you or a lot of folks in the SBC this year. Right now, I think the team needs to focus on getting better. Having watched App teams since 1988, this team has a lot of talent, but very little experience and needs a confidence boost. Once we get a groove, we will be O.K. The only game I really want back so far this year is Southern Miss. The rest was pretty much predictable, especially with how well GSU is playing at the moment.
