Blazers played a good game. Tough against an $EC school. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I didn't see the Troy game, so I was not as sold as some of you were. I felt that we were obviously better, but I didn't want to make any judgments after playing Troy at home. But after watching us today, I am now convinced we will get six wins and go bowling this year. And I haven't said that about a UAB team since Hackney and White.

If that happens, I hope we will be ready to put up the dough to keep Clark. Because if he gets a team that went 2-10 last year to a bowl this year, there will be schools calling after year one.

I do have to say that I don't think I've ever seen a game where not one holding call was made on either team.

I remember at least one holding call on MSU

Fixed it for you. Just some "gentle ribbing".

Ahhh. I remember now. 1 of their 3 penalties.
Usually there is more than 1 holding penalty in a game. Strange.

We got called for 3 penalties against Troy.

Maybe it's a home team thing.

Bill Clark will probably be the next coach at Mississippi State.

Great effort. 2 swing plays ...pick six and punt block...put a winnable game out of reach in the 4th.

This team will improve, paticularly qbs and dbs, as the season advances. We will win 7 or 8 if injuries dont cripple us.

The SEC commentators seemed to be convinced we would be a tough out in the conference, too.

I think if you give an SEC team a bit of a run for their money, that's almost a guarantee. And we're not even talking about a bad MSU team. Everyone is going to come out and say MSU is a horrible team now, but I don't think that is the case. I think UAB is just that much improved.

Not a chance. They don't value defense enough to hire a defensive coach.

On the other hand, if I were the AD at Vanderbilt, I'd be paying close attention.

I doubt a SEC school would lower themselves to hire a coach right out of UAB. They have their reputation afterall. If he moves up, his next job will be an AAC, or lower end ACC or Big 12 job.

Two games in and we're sending him off....geez.

I think UAB ponies up the cash to keep him. There, just had to speak a little life into the situation.
