I know you guys lost last week, but I would have expected more for an ACC team coming into town. And not just a normal Duke team but one that played for the ACC championship last season.

Why just city limits?
That is what towns normally claim for their population.
We all know Atlanta metro area is huge but not actually part of Atlanta.
That being said, let's put it aside and never mention it again.
I don't like talking about just the actual city limits of Atlanta.

Detroit has seven hundred thousand in the city five million in the metro . Totally irrelevant but similar to Atlanta and EMU is close to Detroit. EMU and Georgia State have pretty similar situations. EMU has their own stadium and more history.

Last 3 seasons plus last week and the weather forcast is the issue.

Congrats, have any pics?

I took these pictures right before kick-off, so there were still long lines of people filing into the stadium at this point.

My family stood in line at will call for an hour and didn't get to our seats until almost five min into the game. When we left will call I would say almost 500 were still in line to get in. Next time we get there 2 hours early!

I graduated from GaSo in 1981 and was happy for the announcement of football just before graduation. I remember going to at least one game that was held at Statesboro High School and watched the team from its humble beginnings to where we are now. I am truly amazed at what we have accomplished in such a relatively short period of time. The stadium looks great filled like it is!

I'm still scratching my head about attendance for this game. Few times have I seen the main tailgate area so empty. With the rain and the threat of heavy rain still had a decent turnout. Certainly the new stadium was a major attraction but with good play over the next couple of weeks and meaningful competition more of the grass may need to be reopened for seating.

This is reasons why I wanted GaSo and App in the conference. Both come in averaging more in attendance while FCS then most of the members in this conference, past and present. Of course the tradition and history of programs didn't hurt either.04-rock

That and I love the Boone area.

I expect 30k+ for the App game. Either that, or I'm completely wrong and nobody shows up because we can actually watch ourselves on TV...

Unrealistic expectations are never a good thing. 25k would be a huge win.

Not to knock my school, but I'm curious how accurate that number is. They didn't scan my ticket, they just ripped the stub off. I will say, the crowd looked good though.

They scanned my ticket at Cajun Field. They probably just go with tickets sold.

Can you guys fit 30,000?

You no longer have a hill to cram people on and from the pictures I saw from your game this weekend, there didn't look to be 6,000ish extra seats available.

25,000 is the stadium capacity, so I would think our absolute maximum wouldn't be much more than that. Our AD has already said that he could possibly "open up new areas" if everything else is sold out, but I would think that means opening up access to the hills.

Even if we technically could, I don't think we would. Need another reason to expand again.

Even if we beat Tech and USA we won't have 30k for the App game.

I would bet $100 versus a pack of bubble gum we won't have that many for a Thursday night game. Our Atlanta fan contingent won't make it to that game, and App fans don't travel to our stadium for Saturday games.

The hill next to Bishop on the home side is untouched, just fenced off. Easily could be opened up for GM run-off. If pressed, we could cram another 2-3k into Paulson.
