It was probably 6,000ish. Home side had a good crowd.

They must have left before the fourth quarter. Didnt really get a good look till then and I was pausing and counting the fans. Or at least a cluster and then multiplying the big cluster rough count by the number of clusters when they would show a different angle and side of the stadium.

6K in the 4th? They must have went home and to bed. Which is where I'm headed.... Goodnight guys!

Nice to have a win for the SBC under our "belt" no matter how ugly or who against. Thanks GAST.

Nah that was before halftime. After ACU took the lead the place cleared out.

Place cleared out at the 6 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Looks like we share fans with the Braves.

We are bigger than just Greenville not to mention it is easy to get in and out of Greenville. Airport here and airport in Kinston. Teams have to fly to Charlotte and then bus over an hour to get to Boone in the mountains no less.

With that said App State doesn't need to worry about ECU, Charlotte is your threat.

No one flys into Greenville either. There is one commercial flight out of that airport and it is a connection to Charlotte. Anyone going to Greenville flys into RDU and drives...

I still can't sleep. The highlights are on the news feed in the ESPN Roku channel, so I keep watching it. First time I've been able to really celebrate a Panthers win since 2011 (I wasn't at the Rhode Island game two years ago). It was ugly overall (mostly thanks to an unfortunately permissive defense), but it still feels good to be a GSU fan tonight.

Secondary is a mess. But at least we aren't allowing our usual 250 rushing yards.

In fairness, their rush attack was pretty terrible. It was obvious Simes hadn't played in 5 years, and they insisted on running up the middle. The OL wasn't outsized, but everything collapsed on the interior every time they tried it. The runs they took to the perimeter were much better. I just shook my head every time they had a run up the middle.

We have allowed 250 yards to horrible rushing attacks before.

Great Job Panthers! They refuse to beat themselves. They never stop trying and that is what we need from every team.

This is the only thing that matters: A story in the AJC about a Ga State win.

Yea, I know.

But all of those teams looked better running the ball than ACU did. Simes looked like he was running through mud and pulling a concrete truck with him. They honestly should have given up running the ball completely, it was terrible.

They had enough success early with the delayed runs to try to keep with it. Plus, it opened up the pass game for them.

You would be wrong. Plenty of people here were surprised by our play against them last year, and I can now say with confidence that we are significantly better this year. Got a lot of first-game mistakes out of our system last night, and what we were missing last year was an ability to close out a fourth quarter.

They had enough success early with the delayed runs to try to keep with it. Plus, it opened up the pass game for them.

Possession breakdown of rushing yards:
#1: 17 yards (69 total)
#2: 6 yards (6 total, 3 and out)
#3: -1 yards (6 total, 3 and out)
#4: 18 yards (50 total)
#5: 4 yards (72 total)
#6: No rushing attempts (36 yards total)
#7: Loss of 1 to kneel for halftime
First half total: 44 yards

That's not having success early at all. When Sims was injured, he had 2 yards per carry, and they were leaning on him the most early. He was absolutely terrible. I hate he got injured, but it was pretty obvious they couldn't run. Your defense had the middle jammed, and they kept running right into it. The fact that their RB's were so slow/hesitant to get to the hole just made it easier.

The passing game opened up when they started rolling McKenzie out. His accuracy while on the move was impressive. Commentators even said the coaches mentioned that leading up to the game. Getting the ball outside quick was successful for them as well.
