Just saw highlights on Sportscenter while drunk at a bar, they mentioned how it was good to play first and get your name on SC. Congrats on the win, seemed like you guys were down by a score for the whole game! Welcome to FBS!

If the kids they are getting that almost lost to Abilene Christian like cities they can keep em. Ill take a winning tradition and packed stadium over 18 people in the Georgia Dome any day.

Damn you know how to kill a buzz. We are not hear to argue who has more fan support or who has a better team. They just broke a sixteen game losing streak.

Congrats get them a trophy. Most around the country that see the game will say, "Thats a sunbelt School, and they almost lost to Abeline Christian". The sunbelt conference must suck. I just wish that wasn't on national TV cause it was a bad representation for our conference. Embarassing

Not very long ago Western Kentucky made the move up from FCS to FBS and a few of their fans were pretty confident of being successful right out of the gate, but SBC football wasn't very kind to them as they went 0-12 overall. Don't be surprised when you find that playing in a FBS conference is not as easy as you and GSOU appear to believe it is. I predict at the end of the year you and a lot of your fans (posters) will lose some of their cockiness.

When we first started hitting home on that a few months ago
it was about 1/2 and 1/2 on people supporting other Sun Belt
teams versus outside teams.

It will become a lot easier when you see the rest of the conference rooting for YOU.

I still can't sleep. The highlights are on the news feed in the ESPN Roku channel, so I keep watching it. First time I've been able to really celebrate a Panthers win since 2011 (I wasn't at the Rhode Island game two years ago). It was ugly overall (mostly thanks to an unfortunately permissive defense), but it still feels good to be a GSU fan tonight.

We haven't played our first game as an FBSer and we already have fans acting like we have been here all along. I'm afraid some of our folks are going to be in for a rude awakening. It's one thing to play one FBS/BCS team a year but to play a full schedule with them will be something no one on our team has experienced. I do believe we have many folks underestimating the challenge ahead.

Congrats to GSU on a great comeback win.

Secondary is a mess. But at least we aren't allowing our usual 250 rushing yards.

App just lost their AD to Gstate. Gstate spent 5 horrific seconds in FCS. GSOU, as you put it, and App fans may bring some additional heat to the anointed one when given the opportunity. I predict you're wrong.

I'm not gonna read through this, it was hard enough watching the game.

I enjoyed it.

At least it goes in the W column.

Shore up the turnovers, stop the special teams penalties and don't throw that screen so many times in a row and you might have something.

Hard to get a game on ABC. I really don't know about their D2 records.

I do know that we lost to a D2 move up when most thought we would kill them. But they had five national championships at that level and believed they were supposed to win and we... well we had Brian van-dipstick.

Good luck to you guys, still hope you lose every conference game 03-wink but hope you find a way to win the OOC ones.

Congrats again.

You were on ESPNU not ABC

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

To be fair...for most G5 programs, ESPNU is about the best we can hope for. ECU doesn't exactly have any games on ABC either, and very very few on a major cable network.

We have one that may be going to ABC then late season games haven't been chosen yet.

Georgia Southern, IMO, would benefit more from Gstate success than failure. Given GS wins every time we meet, forever, and ever, and ever and ever. You need the new stadium. Congrats on the win.04-cheers

I supported App's move up, but I think you guys will have a tough time due to location and lack of transfer who can play right away.

I see what you mean, State College, Ann Arbor, Gainesville, Auburn and Clemson are such HUGE cities. Location has nothing to do with it. We only lost one kid to a "city" because of recruiting this year. He went to Temple, best of luck to him. I think kids looking at colleges want to play in front of packed houses with winning traditions, that's why I walked on at App.

You walked on at App cause you couldn't get a schlorship elsewhere.

In fairness, their rush attack was pretty terrible. It was obvious Simes hadn't played in 5 years, and they insisted on running up the middle. The OL wasn't outsized, but everything collapsed on the interior every time they tried it. The runs they took to the perimeter were much better. I just shook my head every time they had a run up the middle.
