I think you're pretty delusional if you think anyone in this conference that actually has a chance to leave wouldn't. Most that complain about it know it's their last stop regardless.

There is 1 spot left at the FBS table and it is the 12th Sun Belt spot.

There's only one school that sticks out and seems out of place among the SBC and CUSA conferences. There's Rice ($4.84 billion endowment), and then there's everyone else.

If you've been talking to the same folks I have, we're on the same page and there's a whole lot of G5 schools going to be really pissed off when that day comes (which won't be for atleast 5-7 years).

No reason at all for anyone in the SBC to move conferences, unless it is a P5 conference.
Why move when we have a great shot to make this the best G5 conference, at least in football and baseball?
We don't really have a shot to catch up to the AAC in basketball, but no reason we can't be equally successful in football. They may have more money, but most of us are in the best recruiting grounds in the nation. Most kids want to stay close to home and play for teams the locals know.

The conferences.
CUSA charges members more for annual membership than the SBC and we have more teams paying that membership fee...not to mention lots of cash left behind by Memphis and other schools when they left, so I'd say that CUSA probably has considerably more money than the SBC. That may change a few years down the road, but I can't imagine the SBC has nearly as much in its coffers right now as CUSA does.
Just a guess though, I don't have hard numbers or anything.

Those pictures were taken at Fox Sports Regionals studios. Its not like CUSA managed to create that on their own.

Several schools would leave this conference in a heart beat...but not all. Not without knowing what TV deals look like for the MAC and CUSA.

But, honestly, I can't even begin to name the schools because most of them don't matter.
C-USA is largely irrelevant.
I know their fans would say the same thing about the Sun Belt,
but if it's a choice between watching a C-USA game and pet videos on YouTube,
I'm still goin' pet videos.
I suppose CUSA claims superiority over the SunBelt due to 4 of their schools (La Tech, Rice, S Miss & UTEP) being long time 1-A/ FBS programs. But when you look at the rest of the members the conference is made up of 1-AA move ups (UAB 1996, Marshall 1997, MTSU 1999, WKU 2010) and four schools who didn't have a program prior to the late 1990's (FAU FIU, ODU and UNCC). Hardly any difference from the SunBelt.
One has to think the fans at Rice have to be wondering what happened. In the mid 90's the Owls were in the Southwest Conference filling up a 70,000 seat stadium playing people like Texas, Texas A&M and Arkansas.
This is why I don't worry too much about which conference my school is in when it comes ot our peers. I've been to the campuses of La. Tech and USM and they do not have superior facilities to my school or most of the SBC. We've found that the right coaches are out there as well. We can get the players and compete with those schools for recruits now. You can elevate your program equally in either conference. I don't really care about the patch on the sleeve and its former meaning.

You'd have to think hard about being the 15th member of CUSA when the payouts are based on 12.

Plus a $1,000,000 entry fee and a $2,000,000 exit fee if you ever left.
Additionally CUSA is going to lose money on being at or near the bottom of the G-5 in football each year.

RE: CUSA Finished With Expansion
I hope JMU is stuck forever in the CAA. They made their bed, sorry for the few fans that are rational. They lack leadership (even JMU fans are in agreement on this) and the fans/alumni think that only a P5 or ivy league is worth their attention. Reading their board you would think they had a billion+ endowment and were a top 10 school in academics. Yes they are a solid regional university (was accepted there when applying for colleges), but nothing more. Enjoy FCS JMU.
I'm hoping for EKU and MoSt to get things together and make the move and then let Idaho go do whatever they need to. Then the SBC can be add NMSU all sports and be 12/14.
One question. Will the non-football SBC schools start wanting a piece of the pie?

The CUSA teams are living high now off the past. Whenever TV and bowl contracts are renewed we'll see who still has the advantage. SBC teams just need to keep improving facilities and teams, increase donor numbers, and most importantly increase season/gameday ticket sales.

No joke.....some people really believe that realignment will not continue outside of the Big 5....they will be surprised. As for fainting, if OSAGE and some of his boys continue to drop a turd every time the Ragin' Cajuns are mentioned in the media and Arky isn't, we can at least enjoy the side show!
