RE: Baseball Regionals
To me the story of the regionals so far is the number of host teams who lost. 6 have lost so far with 3 still playing. It looks LSU will be the 7th host to lose, Indiana is in a dogfight with Stanford and could be the 8th. Oregon St. could lose to Cal-Irving and be the 9th.
So out of 16 hosts it certainly looks like 7 of the 16 will lose for sure (I am counting the LSU game as a Houston victory)

Can someone post the known regional matchups to this point? I'd really appreciate it.
#1 Oregon State/UC Irvine vs Oklahoma State
#8 LSU/Houston vs Texas
Kennesaw State at Louisville
#4 Indiana/Stanford vs Vanderbilt
College of Charleston at Texas Tech
Pepperdine at #7 TCU
Ole Miss at #6 Louisiana Lafayette
Maryland at #3 Virginia
If OSU wins, they host Oklahoma State. If UC Irvine wins, Ok State hosts.
If Houston holds on, Highest bidder gets Texas/Houston series
Louisville hosts Kennesaw
Indiana hosts Vanderbilt, or Vandy hosts Stanford
Tech/Charleston is up for bid, but Tech will get it.
TCU/ULL/Virginia all host as National Seeds.
Thanks Chiefsfan and Ga as well!
When do those games start, Friday?

One half of the bracket (4 Super Regionals) will run Fri-Sun The other 4 will run Sat-Mon.
Fri-Sun regional winners are guaranteed to open day 1 in Omaha, with the other 4 winners playing day 2.

Another host loses. Stanford hits 2 run homerun in bottom of 9th to beat Indiana 5-4. So 7 hosts have lost and LSU is about to be number 8.

RE: Baseball Regionals
Here they are:
Oklahoma St. vs. Oregon St./Cal-Irving winner (If it is OSU it is at Oregon St.; if it is Cal-Irving it is at Oklahoma St.)
Houston at Texas
Kennesaw St. at Louisville
Stanford at Vanderbilt
College of Charleston at Texas Tech
Pepperdine at TCU
Mississippi at Louisiana
Maryland at Virginia
I am going ahead and putting LSU in the loss column. Still losing 9-2 with 3 outs left for LSU.
Of the 10 SEC teams in the tourney this year only 2 advance to Supers (Vanderbilt and Mississippi). I would like to see those 2 put out next weekend-- Louisiana you can do something about 1 of them.

LSU being hammered at home in deciding game-- Houston 12 LSU 2 now with LSU coming up for final at bat in top 9th.
So that is 8 hosts who have lost of 15 so far with only Oregon St.-Cal Irving game left.
I can't remember a year before where at least half the hosts lose in the regionals.

You know, I am glad UH took down L-S-U and A and M College Baton Rouge, but Robe would never sacrifice a pitchers arm for a win, no matter what game it was.
They had a pitcher who tossed over 90 pitches on Friday who also pitched over 100 tonight.
That is risking the health of your best player.

If He's a Senior you see it all the time. I remember years ago the Pigs were so eager to reach a CWS that they started a pitcher for 100 pitches one day, then brought him in for 110 more pitches the next day.
They got vilified for that rightly.
