We will do it eventually, but its still annoying. Maybe if we get a bowl game and have close to sell outs for Miss State and Navy this year.
USA probably sees Ladd as a money saving deal and that can make it hard to justity to pay for bonds etc for a new stadium.
Maybe tip off some OSHA or city code enforcers about structural and safety issues and get it shut down like that high school stadium in Allen.

Fanof49 did have a photo shop rendering of the press box stretched across the home side at one point. I'll see if I can find it.

RE: A-State Stadium Expansion?
This has been the strangest round of capital improvements I've ever seen.
The press box was #3 on the priority list. They had put out feelers to a big donor but hadn't even gotten the drawings completed much less blueprints. Then one day the donor is being interviewed for a business story and mentions he is giving $5 million for the press box. The president calls the AD wanting to know why he hadn't told him about getting a $5 million donation, the AD doesn't have any idea what he's talking about.
During the course of that day the AD is getting calls from people wanting to know how much the suites will be because they are interested so they have to call the firm doing the drawings to make a bunch of changes. A $5 million project becomes a $7 million project and I've heard some talk that it may end up costing even more because of the demand for more space.
A project that was to be mostly paid for upfront with lease payments covering the less now has more upfront money committed than was expected and they were considering using the lease revenue to help cover the new operations center but now think they will have most of that committed by donors as well.
The ops center has been redrawn at least three times because they keep finding more funding.
A dedicated practice facility for men's and women's basketball that has been on the wish list for a couple years is now being talked about as a larger building that also serves as the home for volleyball. I did my part by suggesting they go a little big and add a sand pit so they can add sand volleyball.
Last year they built a deck in the south end zone for visiting AD's to entertain their guests. Soon as it opened boosters began calling wanting to know how much it cost to rent. The AD and the president were discussing all the calls and they decided to put a price on it that they didn't think anyone would pay and then when the new pressbox opened they'd move the visiting AD's to a suite there and drop the price on the deck. It was rented before the week was out.

Winning brings out the donors. It doesn't hurt that the Hogs are not winning very many games.

RE: A-State Stadium Expansion?
It is not just winning, donors bring in donors. We have people that are in no way connected to the program, not alumni or even live in the Lafayette area trying to give 7 figure donations because they want to be tied to success and deal with customers who are huge Cajun supporters. They see the investment of $1-5 million and a hedge bet on outside business opportunities in the oil field where they can wine and dine potential customers at an authentic Cajun event. If they can close one big deal at a Cajun football game like they do at LSU football games then that $1-5 million investment just got them a $20 million plus contract in the business world. I am sure stAte will see the same type of deals going down. Large sporting events, where the product is good, is a great place to do business. You think all deals are done in a boardroom, I sure don't. Businesses don't donate money to programs because they love the program, that is something we as fans do, they donate to make money.
That is one of the major reasons for the Cajuns expanding to close to 50k for football. We announced the addition of suites and the demand after 2 days were more than we could imagine. We had to double the original plan just to meet the demand. We still cant meet the demand even after we complete construction of both upper decks.

So with UNT gone is ULM's board the largest in the conference now? If so, sounds like ASU and maybe UL-L will drop it to 3rd. The board is great and one thing we for sure did right.

If you don't count Georgia State, ULM is probably the largest right now.

What are the current (or if building a new one, future) size of Video boards for SBC teams? a pic would be helpful too. I'll try (but maybe some other GS fan can do a better job and quicker) to post a pic of our new board. I believe it is all video at ~1200sq/ft.

If you can find a postage stamp then you will see how big the Cajuns video board is. Seriously I have seen bigger HDTV's in houses.

Does it have a black line that shows up across the middle of it? If so we may have both gotten them at the same Best Buy.

You've never seen ours? Tiny! Our baseball video board is bigger than footballs.

There have been times when I wished ours was a lot smaller.
