There is not a Sunbelt team that would turn down Ware and Howell. So, cut the crap about transfers. In addition, we have some quality high school recruits coming in.

Folks are acting like they are JUCO transfers. The rest of the league will need to step it up.

Agreed the great Cajuns teams of the early 2000's were full of transfers. The '02-05 teams would have destroyed this years Belt. With 7 or 8 guys still playing professionally off of those squads. We had an Auburn (Mitchel), Florida (Green), and Kentucky/Ga Tech (Southall) transfers. I'd kill to have those guys.

Hell Shawn Long moo st.

I'm pre-emptively saying that I am 100% ignorant on basketball... But when I saw this, I had to ask:

Quote: Hollowell averaged 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Indiana.

That's not much... is it?

Again, I'm not knocking the guy. 42nd in ESPN's top 100 is impressive. Just those numbers didn't scream to me THIS GUY IS A STUD!

The competition level at Indiana is way higher than he'll ever see in the Sunbelt. This guy started 15 games, if my memory serves me correctly. Starter at Indiana!

Both Manny Atkins and Harrow added, at the minimum, 7 points to their average once transferring. I have no doubt this guy will be on an all-Sunbelt team.

That is something I really didn't consider, and you are 100% right... Indiana is facing much tougher competition.

RE: CBSSports: Jeremy Hollowell Commits to Georgia State
It is possible that GA State could develop its MBB program to a point that it can be dominant in the SBC. That would be much harder to do in football, so I think GA St's administration has it's focus exactly where it should be at this point. It is also a good strategy for better positioning themselves as a candidate in the next round of realignment.

Give it time. Football will get there too.

RE: CBSSports: Jeremy Hollowell Commits to Georgia State
i've stated repeatedly that as long as the huckster is in atlanta they'll be good. very good. it just depends on how long they can keep him and that's no reflection on them at all. it's the way it is.

he's probably known this kid since he was in jr. high since he's from indy.

if he gets the acc/sec table scraps out of atlanta and then brings in top players that don't make it at higher level schools he'll amass talent the rest of the sunbelt will have a hard time competing against.

but.....nobody will just give them the crown. cajuns won't just crown 'em. red woofs won't just crown 'em. as they found out this year, they have to win the tourney to go to the ncaa. not always as easy as it is to win regular season games.

but hunter's gotta be turning heads in some bcs conference schools. i figure he'll at least stay until jr. leaves which could be as early as next year. someone will throw money at him.

didn't yall have a winning season the year before? big difference in going from a winning season to NIT, and 0 losses to competing for the conference title.

Jokingly using the term huckster is pretty benign compared to the tone and language of a great many of your posts. As one of the most aggresive posters on this board you have very little standing to be complaining about the terminology used by other posters.

Several of us knew ya'll had a decent team though. Can't say many people saw the run you had, but it wasn't all that surprising either.

Football? Not so much.
