Better conference. ESPN contract rather than Fox.
How much will ESPN show Tulane... Everyone knows ESPN wants UCONN, Cincy, and Memphis, but how much will that translate to appearances by the rest of the league?
An important question is how its new conference will affect the school's BB program's bottom line? If it will get more money while getting on TV more because those "name schools" must play someone to be on TV, Tulane may benefit over time from the change. One thing for sure- the pressure on its BB program to succeed has increased and the coaching staff knows it.

Ehhh. Kids goes to what hes thinks is best. May be too much competition for him here and not enough pt. I hope we get him and develop him in to a good one.

That's what would be embarrassing to me. If a kid thinks Tulane is a better option that shows where our program is. There will be some competition here no doubt, but two of the guys he would be behind are foul prone. If we can get and develop him that is going to be huge for us going forward though.

That's the thing competition is good but it is not like these guys he's competing against here are seniors or Juniors. They have the same d1 experience he does. He just has to be better than them. They are on even footing

Would probably only be behind Mehinti. CJ may play the post some, as well may some others, but I'm pretty sure he would be brought in to only backup Tosin. Why expose the others who are smaller and, particularly CJ, need to stay in the game and play and concentrate on a single/natural position.

New Orleans has a lot more to offer in the way of distractions than Birmingham ever will. If that is his choice I would chalk it up to that.

RE: Gustys visiting UAB?
I would guess that at his age Gustys is conversant with the reputation of New York and New Orleans - they are not a local secret. He just might consider our city to be an advantage in his pursuit of BB growth and development. A good school with a good program in a good city. We will soon know for sure.

And getting to play against UConn, Memphis, Cincinnati, and Temple as compared to.........I rest my case.
