You forgot the AAC--they fit perfectly into the geography of that conference so an invite is in the mail . With their declining fan base, half-built stadium, zero market and lack of success across football and basketball JMU is every conference's dream. It's too bad they've come to this conclusion two years too late. Now, they don't have the opportunity to ride ODU's coattails into a legit conference, their future is bleak.

Yes! I forgot about the pocketed AAC invite mixed with all of the other drama! It's an A G E thing! The SBC boards are definitely anti-Liberty, and are just as interesting with all of the pro Liberty posters acting like they are in a majority and have the votes to jump to FBS. That would be the moral majority!

There is substantial entertainment value here.

There is also potential for real impact to ODU as it would relate to marketing, merchandising, recruiting, and media sharing should any other Virginia institution move to FBS.

They seem to be very sensitive on their board, likely because JMU does not seem to be moving forward and thier peers are abandoning them.

i don't really get why they think they are so strong acedemiclly? What are they known for? Business School, School of Education, ... I know they just started a Nursing School. Do they have an Engineering school yet?

It is nice that they graduate most of their kids.

They've got 'General Engineering' but that's it. JMU wasn't even on my radar when I was looking at engineering schools.

They have a strong, committed faculty, graduate most of their kids on time and get good reviews from their peers and alumni. That helps a lot in building rankings, and rankings build perception. I doubt that the quality of education is actually any better than ODU, but the perception of the education and their selectivity certainly are.

Love that the poo poo pukes always fall back to academics, yet NEVER reference the study of how much less their graduates make than ODU. I for one want the money. I can here my teachers now "My school JMU has some of the top academics in the state. Oh there is the bell make sure you have your homework in tomorrow!"

JMU doesn't have the basketball pedigree of VCU or GMU. Or the overall athletic prowess of ODU.
App St. and Georgia Southern are far stronger football programs.

And according to JMU fans they have no peers academically.

I think the sensitivity comes from the fact that no one sees JMU as highly as their fans. Reality is they aren't that attractive.

But JMU does bring the DC market, if you realize that in this case "DC" stands for Duke Club.

I looked at their messageboard. It seems that they are perfectly suited over there. They have one poster - apparently a woman - who has named herself after the fourth president's wife and who is apparently perpetually on the rag. Honestly, if the real Mrs. Madison was that bitchy she would have scared off the British and the White House would never have been torched.

It's fine for her, because she is surrounded by the biggest load of douche bags on the planet, who somehow believe that conversation on a public messageboard is a private matter.

Now they want to ban a moderator, strip him of his power, because he dares to post on their board. Tell them when they post here that this is a private board and to go away, and they will tell you that it is a public board. Somewhere in their holier-than-thou education they missed the whole goose/gander theory. They also missed proof reading because the number of typos on their board is staggering. Typos are something that happens, but when you tout your "education" over another then you rally should watch grammar, spelling and syntax.

I hope when 78 and whoever else posts on that board that you take a shower afterwards. I usually take one just after reading it.

That thread is a hoot. JMpoo is not even relavent within the CAA football world. The CAA is dropping in stature in FCS like a rock. Our exit has hastened it. We left with the best conference winning % in the history of that league. We also left undefeated, 4-0, against the two most recent national champs the conference produced. Bye bye pukes we hardly knew you. Enjoy the best "facilites" in little boy football. And keep up the good work by your alumni getting our kids to pass the SOLs.

They have the most ridiculous fan base of any I've ever encountered when it comes to their own hyper-inflated self worth.

Vcu fans may be annoying and smelly, but at least their school has accomplished something significant in a final 4 and by acquiring mcv to be apart of their university.

Gmu likewise has a solid law school and a final 4 to their name and their band director may be an actual pimp.

Jmu is no different than any other medium sized, majority women college in the county. Absolutely no one outside of die hard caa fans and jmu alums could pick Harrisonburg out on a map or tell you why they are special.

Jmu will die a slow, mediocre death and I really couldn't care less whether it's in the Mac or the slum belt or hopefully, stuck in the dying caa.

They are beneath us and frankly just making this post was far more time and consideration than those pukes deserve. Their entire university is a big pile of nothing in the middle of nowhere. The idea that they honestly believe their academics separate them from any other state university in Virginia is so mind bogglingly idiotic that it actually makes one wonder if they are even on our level to begin with, nevermind the insanity of their argument that they are actually ahead of us.

We've always been better than them in basketball. Always. We lapped them in football in literally half a decade. That didn't come from thin air, it came from successful people donating their money to odu. This in and of itself refutes any intellectual superiority argument they have made.

They are our *******......in my case, quite literally as my girlfriend is a jmu grad (pardon my French). She earned two degrees from that dumpster fire of a university in business and finance, and I literally crush her in every single academic or intellectual competition we ever have (granted this doesn't exactly prove anything, but it just only further proves what we all already know, a jmu education is extremely overrated).

Now, let this post be the end of our discussion of that mediocre little college in the middle of nowhere, right between an interstate truck stop and bangyoursisterwhoisalsoyourcousinandyourauntville.
