They were on my radar, but when Kansas and Oregon were taken, my choice was between Kentucky and Louisville. I had already written Kentucky when I reminded myself that Louisville had credible programs in football, basketball and baseball, while Kentucky could only regularly be counted on during basketball. Hated to go that way, because of my longstanding dislike of Louisville on the playing fields, but I had to go with my gut, which is ample.

The Diamond Cats are doing just fine. I bet the make the NCAA regionals and maybe the super-regionals this year.

RE: Ideal Conference Draft - 2014
I don't worry about the short term window of UK compared to UL. Both are fine schools and will have their ups and downs. Much of Louisville's current revenue boom comes from a very savvy arrangement with the YUM! Center, which they should be commended for pulling. Generational success and viability is what I tend to value. It will be great for the state if Louisville turns into a perennially respected school and program along the lines of so many other states. We'll see. No doubt Louisville's basketball program has been there for a while, and their academics are trending in a positive way.

That could happen. With Florida, Georgia and Missouri looking a little bit suspect, they could finish fourth in the division behind South Carolina, Vandy and Tennessee. And while they play Ole Miss, they avoid LSU, Mississippi State and Arkansas from the West, so the schedule sets up fairly well for them. We'll see.

I was this close to taking Nebraska...but I wanted at least one big hoops brand, even though football is bigger.

While I realize the Huskers may be riding on past glory, they still sell out 80,000 seats, and are the only show in town in Nebraska... always will be. Great business investment. I am firing the head coach effective immediately.

RE: Ideal Conference Draft - 2014
Everybody remember that we will take a day after Jhawk's 5th round pick for trades. Jhawk, please give 24 hours before your 6th round pick. Once Jhawk gives his 6th round pick, trades must already be posted. Any outlandish or totally one sided trade can be vetoed via booing and hissing from the general population.

I was vacillating (solid vocab word) between VT, Illinois and Duke. And one more who I'm hoping will get left out.. not likely though.

RE: Ideal Conference Draft - 2014
I'd actually been leaning towards Arizona first, then just before bbb took them I'd started debating Illinois and VT. I do have several others in mind, but of course it's hard to plan ahead.

Updated logo grid. Put a few throwbacks in there for fun.
