No one is going to wait around for UAB to catch up to them.

The horse is dead now, I promise.

Some friends and I thought about the Arkansas game, but I heard the drive to get to UA is as long and boring as drivng to Memphis or UGA. But I know I'll make itnto the USM game this year and the UT game in 2015.

It would be better if the game were in Little Rock. Cuts three hours off the drive and it's not a bad city. I've never been to Fayetteville, so I can't compare. Driving across Arkansas is not very interesting.

No way I'll make it to Arkansas game. You are right, everyone here at Bama has said the trip to Arkansas is one of the most boring trips ever. However, I will be going to the Tennessee game in 2015. Hopefully I'll make it to the Mississippi State game this year though.

Ditto here. I will go to every SEC buy game except either of the Arkansas stadiums. Not enough return on investment. If either stadium was amazing, it would be different. I've heard they are nothing special.

If going to UAR and traveling I-40, a stop at the wineries around Altus, AR may relieve some of the tedium. One has a "Swiss Chalet" building to host wine tastings and there were 19 varieties at the time we visited to "taste". If you don't want to wait for the AR trip, a visit to Morgan Creek Vintners off 280 in Harpersville, AL can provide a good exercise in tasting to keep your taste buds sharp.

I think UK is more beatable. If we have to take buy games I much prefer them to be against someone we might just jump up and beat instead of pure body bag games. If we're doing those, I want a lot of money coming in exchange.

Like possibly getting paid a million a year in Tuscaloosa? At least after a couple of years we could pay for our own stadium. Also, we have never lost to Saban before. (Blue ink)

The Alabama Revenue boss said the state would not send the $30 or $40 per auto tag that an out of state school might get if the 1,000 tags were sold to make printing the tags happen. He said it made no sense to send Alabama money to other state's schools so the money would be paid to the Alabama General Fund. We choke on $40 per tag while Bama sends almost $3 million total to Ohio one year and Colorado the next. Now they send $1.4 million to a Miss. school? It seems we pinch pennies in one agency while flinging millions of Alabama dollars into other states from another.

Wow, stream of consciousness with this thread, it has covered lots of topics unrelated to Troy.

Where to drink wine in Arkansas being the most unrelated.

I'm glad we are extending the series. I would like to see us open with Troy every year, and end the season vs Southern Miss every year--but play on the day after Thanksgiving where we aren't competing against the Iron Bowl. It's getting way too difficult to try to schedule every home game around Bammer and Auburn. We're just going to have to take a hard look in the mirror and realize that there are over 16,000 undergrads that could go for free, and 1.2 million people within 30 minutes of the stadium--and all of them aren't watching Bammer.

Not Troy related, but if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it - did it happen?

No need to respond...

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, a tree fell in the woods because it's in the if clause of your question.
