I am in full favor of ASU dropping basketball and putting all of that money into the football program.
I just don't understand the point of fielding a program when the best you can ever hope for is consistent mediocrity because you cant put any money into it. We've got a decent baseball program now...maybe they can have some of it.
Sorry, felt that I needed to rant without a bunch of SBC fans thinking ASU was seriously considering dropping basketball.

By the way, Toledo is very, very good. They are building and building the right way.

Interesting statement from an Akron fan, but I have been saying all along that 10-0 against a 320+ SOS isn't indicative of much. Akron found that out when they beat 10 or 12 OOC patsies a few years back and got no NCAA love with 27 wins.

It's actually around 240.
And just a couple years ago, UT would only have a couple wins with this same schedule.

Oh, I agree about the rebuild, just not sure how good we are. And about that 240...Realtime RPI shows 242, then under "Power Ratings" it shows 328 for SOS. I'm confused. What's the difference?

I believe one is the standard RPI type formula and one is their own version, kind of like espn uses BPI now, or bbstate has their own ranking system.

Remember this game if any Ohio fans start beating their chest at any point the rest of this season.

RE: Men's Basketball Week of Dec. 16 - Dec. 22
Miami's next three games (including tonight) are UMKC, Tennessee State, and SIU-Carbondale; the 'Roos have lost to Emporia State, TSU's only win is against an NAIA school, and SIU just had that meltdown press conference by their coach to deal with (a poor craftsman blames his tools). We could very well win the next three, we could very well lose all three. Hopefully IPFW-second-half-Miami shows up instead of Wilmington-Miami.

UMass by 20 with a few mins to go. UMass is an excellent team. Very fast, strong on the boards and some very good three point shooters.

Akron played some Jekyll-and-Hyde basketball today. The first half they looked completely awful, but they played an amazing second half to blow past Detroit 79-60.
