The little sister is at least in the family, sitting at the table enjoying the meal. The other option is to be relegated to the shack in the backyard, fed scraps and only let out when a family member feels like playing with you.
Establishing alliances between P5 and G5 conference helps the G5 conferences gain exposure, standing and legitimacy (which is why it will never happen). Plus, it creates greater opportunities for regional games. Geographically, the pairings are obvious (so obvious that it makes even more sense):
SEC - Sun Belt
ACC - AAC
B1G - MAC
B12 - CUSA
PAC - MWC

10 years ago those BCS wins meant something more. When Boise beat Oklahoma, that meant a lot. Now, I'm not even sure many people take notice. I for one was in bed and asleep when UCF won theirs. And they beat Baylor, not exactly a traditional power.

Good in theory, but they will never agree to such a thing. Wouldn't mind having an away and a home SEC game every year though.

If the P5 conferences were at 16 teams and the G5 were 12, the P5 schools would get a home game every year and would have to play an away game every third year. The G5 schools would have an away game every year and get a home game every third year. That is a scenario I think the P5 schools could live with.

I am about the same after last night. Does it appear to you that instead of reporting on the sports news, ESPN is trying to control the sports news? The commentary of the Texas A&m - Duke game made me sick. They were rooting for Texas A&M and it was the same for Alabama last night. What happened to being unbiased?
ESPN preaches P5 and that is it. Is it because of the Walt Disney and PAC 12 politics.

Are you guys just figuring out that ESPN controls sports??? They have done so for quite a while now. They decide what is news, they decide how things should be and they make it so. They are the reason for a lot of the new bowls over the last 10 years, they are the reason for the BCS, and who gets in the BCS and they will control the new playoffs, why you ask, because they are the ones that will be broadcasting those games. All you have to do is follow the money, and the money is ESPN, ABC and Disney, that is all one company.

Oh I just cut the cord a year ago and largely havent missed it at all. When you cut the cord you realize that you were paying for 90% crap and 10% which was what you wanted to see. ESPN in 90% crap. Its a 24/7 informercial for the AQ conferences

Me too. I wanted to get rid of cable for a long time, but my then-fiance wouldn't. Finally, as we were making marriage plans, I presented it as a way to divert more money for the wedding and as a way to make other plans as a couple, instead of going to the path of least resistance. That was in early 2008 and we haven't looked back since.

Espn sees college games as "a reality show" for them to profit from.
Most college programs are only happy to comply

With internet content and over the air TV, cable/satellite is a waste. I find what I wasn't to watch on Netflix or Amazon Instant On Demand or directly from the TV networks website.

I'm going with Netflix after the bowl season is over and getting rid of the satellite and land line. More shows worth watching, less phone calls to interrupt, and it will roughly cover the rise in my health insurance.

I pay 100 bucks a month for cable. If it wasn't for my infinite desire to watch TV when I have nothing better to do, I would have cut able a long time ago.
