Bad News for ULM fans
University of Arkansas is in the process of getting rid of its Little Rock games. Going to one game a year until 2018 and then the contract will end.

Not that the pigs would ever play ULM again...but their home away from home is gone.

Because ULM has used "home games" against Arkansas in LR in the past.

I'm sure they can schedule something similar with another school.

If a program like UAB who had 5k at their game announced last week can survive so can ULM.

UAb is a joke, and ULM could beat them, hands down.

Even after hiring McGee, they still can't get any success on the field.

It's a career killer for any coach coming into that program.

Don't be shocked if UAb loses to Southern Miss this weekend.

The budget constraints are not as tough on UAB's athletic department as ULM. ULM has a small fanbase and by law cannot raise funds by adding fees on the students. All Louisiana schools have this issue and it's why our athletic budgets tend to be some of the smallest in the nation. UL has the fan support to be ok with this, La Tech has big pockets that keep them upright, but ULM has neither which is why they have a lot of the issues they do.

We never had intentions of renewing that series in little rock. We didn't make near the money off of that game as we do off of guaranteed games. We also are no where near the bottom of fbs in attendance.

UAB also gets very little support from their masters the trustees.

They always seem to find a way to keep going.

It's not. I believe we had the option to renew and chose not too. We knew before the game last year it was likely the last of the current set up of the series.

That's why I said it... I don't think ULM cares one way or the other. Life will go on

UAB beats USM even when USM is good and UAB is, well, UAB.

RE: Bad News for ULM fans
Even if ULM was having the attendance problems they were at one time, clearly the NCAA has no intention of ever enforcing any kind of minimum attendance policy, if they did there are several MAC programs that would have no leg to stand on.

A few years back I compared EMU's attendance to FCS and DII and it was staggering, IIRC they wouldn't even have been in the top ten in DII. I'll search for that post later, but the search function on this site doesn't seem to work on my phone.

They do... They beat a top 25 ranked Southern miss 2-3 years ago...

It's gotta end for UAb one day... Why not now?03-drunk

EMU had 1,790 at their last game. We will average over the required 15k mark even with our disappointing season.

That's what I'm saying, if the 15k "rule" were ever going to be enforced, EMU could have been dropped at any point over the last decade.

That deal was a slap at stAte. I am grateful that ULM made it backfire on them at the end of it.

While I can understand where you are coming from the fact that they won't be playing them is bad news for the SBC.

Given the Belt's footprint the biggest competition are the P5 schools that share it.

Given the roadblocks that exist between Arkansas and stAte playing, Troy and Alabama/Auburn, etc, the Belt really ought to take any of these opportunities that it can.
