Doubt your fans are going to fill up any east division game. WKU, MT, and ODU are alot different than Wofford, Elon, or Furman.

App has a strong football following but I don't see it with any other team.

What are you talking about we brought 8k fans to ECU the last time we played them...

Charlotte is what, an hour and a half from Boone? How many ASU alum are in the Charlotte area? They are both UNC system schools. It would be a natural rivalry. They should play each other every year.

App has over 10k alums in the Charlotte metro area, heavy concentration in south CLT.

Then bring it! :) I can't think of any other home and home series that we could get on the schedule that would generate the buzz that App-Charlotte would. There would SRO crowds in both places, and tons of press. It's a natural rivalry, and I hope we can make it happen.

Every large U in a three to four state radius has a large alum base in South Charlotte; probably the highest concentrations of college grads in the two Carolinas.

The rumors we are hearing down here is that its ECU and Charlotte. Not sure who the Mac school is.

ECU is not in CUSA or the MAC.

Last time I checked, ECU is still in CUSA.......

considering we do not have any open games for the 2013 season (the only games left as a CUSA football team) we will not be a CUSA football team in a few more weeks after we host and win the Championship game on the way out....so the post should read 1 CUSA team, 1 future AAC team and a MAC team.

I have no problem playing ASU in Greenville. If we go to Boone now?..our AD needs his head examined.

ECU isn't C-USA after this season, AND we would not give App State a home and home.

I hope we don't have to scold our new AD on this issue. There is a pecking order involved here. We should not have to apologize for looking after our best interests. I respect the ASU program. God knows they whipped us enough times....but....We should not be even thinking at this point about any home and home series with the Mountaineers. Somewhere in the next couple of decades?...Maybe.

BTW...My opinion also is the same for UNCC and ODU at this point.

I think you would. Holland has a love affair with App. So much that he tried to get App in CUSA. Luckily our AD and the rest of the AD's in CUSA said no to that idea.

Compher is the AD now and would make the call. Holland is there pretty much as a figurehead now. I predict TH will leave at the end of this season.

What is the purpose of college sports?

Neither ECU nor ODU will ever be in a power 5 conference. What is the ceiling that you are seeking to preserve by denying a great regional sporting event? If you feel so superior that you question their worth as an opponent, it shouldn't be too hard to prove you are superior on the field.

Isn't this the very same philosophy that ECU fans complain about regarding State and Carolina?

All I'm saying is let's get some intriguing games going... We're not playing for a National Title.

I welcome playing any of these teams in Greenville. It is nothing personal...just looking out for our best interests...just like UNC and NCSU did. We endured playing these games for decades in Chapel Hill and Raleigh. It is just the way it works and I never held it against them.

I didn't either. It was smart of them not to play us and potentially lose. They had nothing to gain really from a perception stand point and everything to lose. That was a damaging loss to us earlier in the year for UNC football, much more so than if say Tulane drilled them.

As far as the UNCC fan throwing up above at the thought of playing App, you lost to a D3 school yesterday at home that doesn't even give scholarships, you might want to show a little more respect for their program. In a home and home with your two programs is appropriate and you'd be getting the better end of the deal.

You are damn right we did not like it but we understood the reasons but I do not think saying we "held it against them" is an accurate reflection of the dynamic involved with those schools. There are plenty of reasons for our dislike of those institutions but where we played football games really is not one of them. No one made ECU agree to all those games at UNC and NC State….It was part of a process to build our program. As we grew our program they could not longer justify not coming into our stadium to play…But it took time to get to that point. I think we should play all in-state FBS programs from time to time but at this point I do not think we owe any of them a home game if they can not accommodate a reasonable amount of our fans in their home stadium…I could see a neutral site game in BOA stadium.

After 2014 UAB currently only has 1 game officially scheduled. http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/conf-usa...lazers.php Our AD has mentioned wanting to schedule more H&H with G5 schools. I wouldn't mind playing APP.
