@barrymcknight: Remember, this is a grown man RT @bagman2010: Troy people are such COMPLAINERS. We cant get a game with AU or Bammer..whhaaaaa...whaaaaaaa.,

Alabama has something from last year Blakeney will never have: A National Championship.

He's free to run his mouth about Bama all day long, but the fact remains that they win championships.

What Does that have to do with them not playing us?01-wingedeagle

Name a good reason why they would. If you were the AD for Alabama, why would you schedule Troy?

Okay, let's see...I remember more than a few SBC schools on the Capstone and a couple in particular: 1) ULM, 2) TY Hilton I'll add the spankin' that y'all got also. I'm pretty sure no one in this conference or CUSA for that matter has a BC$ Championship...right or wrong? The topic wasn't championships. It was about in-state Alabama schools' administrators not giving TROY a shot.

My point was the Blakeney was attempting to trash these schools. And in comparison, that's just silly. I would say the exact same thing if WKU's coach or Todd Stewart said it.

Who cares? Blakeney trashed talked Bama and barn some. I'm proud of him for it. Creates pride within the program. Why not schedule TROY. If they are national champs they got nothing to worry about right? Keeps money in the state rather than playing Wyoming 1million to play.

Good post. Lots of GS fans don't like UGA -- me included -- but UGA has played us and will continue to do so. Tech is playing us as well.

But, it's a no-win situation for the big boys. Win big and you're running up the score on little brother. Don't win by enough points and you suck.

I also hate being called the little brother... We are not related to those other schools in state... We have a larger student population than Barn and We are gaining ground on Bama. We might not have the Athletic power as those two but we hold our own.

But, you don't have the same issue...you've played UK before, right? Vandy...? We haven't been afforded that luxury, win, lose, or draw. It probably won't happen unless there's some sort of legislation provided. To get a shot in life, sometimes you have to go out on a limb...you'll understand when you grow up 03-2thumbsup

That's what I ment...

Troy main, Troy Montgomery, Troy Dothan, Troy Phoenix city are all within an hours drive and all together have about 18k

System wide we have just shy of 30k

Auburn system wide is about 25k I believe

That is the word that alums of the the school in question mainly use about their alma mater. Said alums are bigger fans of the "big brother". GSU is littered with these rubes. Our new AD is weeding them out.

Hah. I don't care if you are a yankee transplant --- you're still a riot.

The Troy vs Auburn story just hit the news in Montgomery and here's what the Barn AD had to say...

First quote from Aub AD is "they are full through 2015."

Troy is actively scheduling into 2018. We got room, barn! Not a good excuse...

I love his comments. He spoke his mind and did not give any BS "coach talk" answers. Any CUSA fans that don't like what he said should stay on the CUSA board and not worry about it.

RE: Blakeney article in Savannah paper
In the video of the Auburn AD explaining that the Tigers as "full", you can actually see the B.S. flowing out of his mouth! Chunks of it.

Bama and Burn have played every other Sun Belt team except for Troy, and much of CUSA and I-AA. That's not coincidence.

Let's see. Auburn never has any room for little old Troy on its schedule, but it managed to play Arkansas State (2013 and 2010) several times, every other Sun Belt team, I-AA Western Carolina (this season), ULM (also 2010) and New Mexico State (2012), FAU, Utah State and I-AA Samford (2011), I-AA Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2010, Northwestern, Ball State, Louisiana Tech and I-AA Furman (2009), ULM (again!), Southern Miss and I-AA Tennessee-Martin (2008), Tennessee Tech, New Mexico State (again) and South Florida (which beat the Tigers!) in 2007, Western Kentucky and Ball State (again) in 2005, Louisiana Tech and ULM (yet again!) and I-AA The Citadel in 2004, Western Kentucky and ULM (They should join the SEC!) in 2003, ULM (yes, again!) and I-AA Western Carolina in 2002, Louisiana Tech and BSU (What is BSU, anyway?) in 2001, Wyoming, VU (who?), Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois in 2000, Central Florida, Idaho and I-AA Appalachian State in 1999, Louisiana Tech and UCF in 1998 and 1997 and Fresno State, UAB and I-AA Northeast Louisiana in 1996.

These schedules represent millions (even tens of millions) of dollars paid to out-of-state programs.

I'm not mad. I find it funny. Troy doesn't need to play those two teams. Having them avoid Troy is better for Troy than Troy playing them and (likely) losing to them. (We've had their number in basketball and football several times.) Troy plays equal or better programs in neighboring states. That's fine for me.

RE: Blakeney article in Savannah paper
Our former beat writer wrote a story a few years back where Saban said he'd like to schedule us, but he doesn't write the schedule.

Jay Jacobs was quoted in another article saying, "we’re not going to play them while I’m here."
http://www.dothaneagle.com/sports/articl...821c7.html

Anyway, don't let this keep you from worrying the jags fans...
