RE: I'm Proud to be apart of the SBC
I didn't stick around long enough to tell for certain, but I can say I've been on multiple conference boards, and this has been the most active of the G5.
Granted this is just my perspective, but hey... it's all I got.

Then that bozo's comment about our board is even funnier. I hope he find his way over here, it'd be good for him to learn something.

Living in Arizona I visit the MWC Board regularly and I do not find the traffic there greater than it is here on the SBC Board.
Go SBC !!

I am sorry for this thread to come about and that an Aggie fan would go to another board and act like an idiot. NMSU Fans generally do not act this way. It may have been something done on the WAC board but does not need to be brought to our future football conference. NMSU and its fans are grateful to have a home for football.

The guy has probably taken a large dose of crap from these guys before. He is not a bad guy for defending the SBC and NMSU. All I would say to him is don't kick the MWC folks when they are down.

Maybe one of us should go over and introduce ourselves and direct him to the right place...

Ehh. NMSU is lucky to have loyal fans like us. As I attended every game. Even thou we have losing season after losing season. Our fans show up in little numbers with most being over 50. Nuff said just expressing my opinion.

RE: I'm Proud to be apart of the SBC
I pull for all the G5 schools against P5 schools especially the SBC and MAC .The MWC and AAC seem to think they are P5 conferences. C -USA is OK but seem to have some fans that want to kick the SBC on the way out.My take is the SBC is made up of the unwanted schools .The current and future members were passed over bye C-USA or the MWC. So lets support each other and Hopefully we can surpass these other conferences.

That includes Ga Southern an App St how could a conference pick UNCC over them.Nothing against Charlotte but these two schools already have fanbases and championships.

Agree that from a football standpoint, AppSt and GaSo were currently hands down better choices than Charlotte because Charlotte was just starting football, however, I think market and more specifically basketball played into that decision. Charlotte used to be in C-USA but was booted because they didn't have football. I think Charlotte and WKU were efforts by C-USA to beef up their basketball, something AppSt and GaSo have not shown any strength.

Depends on how you look at it. I assure you there are teams CUSA that MWC and AAC don't want. Heck there are schools the SBC don't want or want back.

RE: I'm Proud to be apart of the SBC
Charlotte wasn't kicked out of C-USA, they moved to the A-10 for the perceived greener basketball pastures. 49er football wasn't even on the radar yet. UTA has done more in basketball since they moved to the A-10 than they have. While they were in the A-10, they finished in the top three once, never made the NCAA's and had more bottom half finishes in conference than top. They may succeed in the watered down C-USA, but it isn't guaranteed.
You are kidding yourself if you think these moves by C-USA were about more than football. If everything else was equal but your football success was still at three wins a year, WKU wouldn't have gotten the invite. Their strategy was market first, football second.
Bottomline, C-USA would be markedly better off if they took Southern and App instead of either of FIU, FAU, UNCC or ODU in football. Of their adds, only MTSU, ODU and WKU have any real recent success in basketball. FIU, FAU and UTSA are terrible. La Tech and UNT have had moderate but unsustained recent success. USM and UAB are the only holdovers with any success in basketball.
I hope WKU can improve in basketball from their recent success. But is the formula includes a more prestigious conference.. well the current C-USA is a far cry from the Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Marquette and Memphis days.

I visit Bronco country Bsu's board they would like to drop the front range schools. Most were in the MWC before them. One reason the market strategy kinda makes sense we can't all finish 7-1 in conference.Look at the Big Ten OSU and UM were the big two same for Nu in the Big 8. Penn St was a dominate independent but now all four have to play each other.

I'm not a UTSA shineshine pumper, but their athletic department overall is in good shape They were consistently in the running for the Southland Commissioners Cup and won the WAC Cup last year.
Thompson won the Southland a couple of years back and took them to the Big Dance.
