Wilkie, though I really don't like Notre Dame, I do believe there is quite a wonderlust throughout the country for them.

But you are talking crazy talk if you say the BCS needs Notre Dame. That is nonesense!

It's more of a love-hate relationship than a wonderlust. They do have a lot of non-catholic fans, which is basically those who have to be part of the popular crowd. Many of them have no opinion of their own, chosing instead to take whatever opinion comes out of the TV. And we all know how the broadcast industry loves Notre Dame. They get all their games televised, whether it means anything or not. Its because there will always be an audience to watch it. I'm not crazy about Notre Dame, but I know how to recognize the reality of the situation. There is no gravity, Earth sucks!!!

omnicarrier Wrote:And from where you were prior to the last BCS contract you are probably correct except of course the exclusion of the media which has always been a key player in the process dating back to the CFA prior to the BCS.

But with the last contract, it in effect did become broader but the realities of it hasn't been tested yet. Keep in mind that if the BCS goes back to its old ways, the other conferences still have the ability to go back to the courts and Congress to get fairer treatment (which is different than equal treatment - which they will never obtain).

But you keep yucking it up and as you do, precisely how are you any different than those Syracuse fans who are taking a beating in another thread or the Kentucky fans that Wilkie likes to dismiss for their 'superior' acting?

Cheers,
Neil?

Omni, the non-BCS conferences were just tossed a few peanuts

The BCS needs ND, but I don't think that major college football needs the BCS. The BCS needs major college football. Nothing more, nothing less.
