Fact is that CUSA chose ODU and Charlotte over Arkansas State and ULL. Charlotte should tell you that what we think...isn't what these conference people think. It just isn't. The AAC took Tulane which is a real head-scratcher. You don't know.

There is no guarantee Conference Realignment is going to heat up again at all. If it does heat up CUSA could take stAte/UL/USA/TXST or Georgia State. An actual case can be made for any of those depending on what CUSA wants at any moment, and nobody knows that. They even suggested at one point that NMSU was next up. Who knows. You could pimp and badmouth your own conference for a year and suddenly find that JMU and UMASS are your new CUSA members. Oops.

What we do know is that we have a conference home right now. We know that UL, stAte, USA, TXST are all pushing forward pretty hard. To badmouth our own conference while we are trying to push forward is simply insane. It damages your reputation, it damages your conference-mates reputation, it makes it harder for you and everybody else to move forward. It is just plain stupid.

We are currently in a perceived "pecking order". That makes members want to move up that pecking order and makes it unstable. The goal should be to break that perception. We almost did it before and it should be easier now due to the chaos if we execute.

There are a lot of people pimping their school. All that does is give your school a reputation as a desperate pimp and help continue the perceived pecking order. So stop. If you are as worthy as you say then you will be invited to another conference without embarrassing your school with pimping.

Don't start threads, "this is why everyone wants to go to CUSA". The primary reason schools want to go to CUSA is instability and worry about being the last school left holding a bag.

You also end up slamming each other and minimizing each others accomplishments. Frankly, we want EVERY member to push forward. We are building an indoor and end zone facility, UL is building stuff, TXST is building stuff, etc. THAT'S GOOD.

Don't burn your house down before you've bought a new one.

End of rant nobody will pay attention to.

Post of the year! Attitude is everything! From top to bottom. Complaining does way more harm than good. If I'm a recruit I'm likely checking in on the conference boards to get a feel for my likely home choices. The potential positive for this conference going forward is significant and should be pointed out without so much objection, which seems to be the norm on this board, particularly by those perceived to be the flagship programs. Notice Georgia Southern fans aren't doing this. We'll see if this works in your favor. Carry on.

Ruston, here is reality. I know you don't represent State fans for the most part, so I will salute the Wolves on back-to back championships. Now if UL is slightly ahead of FCS programs, exactly where is ASU?

When it comes to athletic budget, money raised...donations, 26 Mil in Phase I facility improvements approved by the UL system this week to break ground after the season, season ticket sales and bowl tickets sales, ASU is behind the Cajuns today. You have 2 championships and 1 bowl win. Congrates!
I don't talk smack but ASU also has a $27m facility and new seating approved for groundbreaking in the spring of 2014. We have record season ticket sales and led the league in attendance last year and we sent more people to Mobile than any team in any conference. We may not be ahead but we are not behind anyone in the league either.

I know you usually don't talk smack, but the Ruston clown made the statement that UL was slightly above FCS and the question remains where does that leave ASU?

1)Attendance, since 2007 ASU has out drawn UL 3 years, so that means both have done so as well. ASU has never averaged over 29,000 in any season.

2) Season ticket sales, UL has sold 8,600, 10,000 and 11,600 this season thus far. Has ASU ever sold more then 10,000?

3)ASU has two SBC championships the last 2 seasons. They have owned the Cajuns.

4)UL has sold almost double the bowl tickets as ASU

5)UL has 2 bowl wins the past two seasons, ASU 1

6)2012 athletic budgets, ASU $15.3 Mil, UL $17.4 Mil,- Note ASU $20 Mil target goal by 2018, UL $20 mil in 2014

7)2012 athletic donations, ASU ?, UL $3.9 Mil

8)2012 Season Tickets, ASU $1.29 Mil, UL $2.39 Mil

9) UL is breaking ground on $26 Mil First Phase in new facilities at the end of November, ASU?

FACT: ASU has won 2 straight SBC Championships and 1 bowl- UL has won 2 straight bowls, sales more season tickets, raises more money, larger athletic budget, sales more bowl tickets and is building new facilities this year.

Wait a G D minute, you Crazy mofo! Are you telling me that phase 1 is now 26mil instead of 20 mil? WTF son? Maybe we can send 3 mil to Tech so they at least have something to start with and send the other 3 mil to moanroe so they can afford to house their athletes for an additional week, just in case they luck out and get in another bowl game. Damn, it sucks to be us.

Memo, potential recruits don't care about this or most other message boards unless its a recruiting website. They spend much more time on Facebook messaging coaches.

Also, when it comes to pimping one's program this board was infested with potential new members for over a year, including numerous petulant Georgia Southern fans. Look in the mirrior son when you want to discuss pimping.

Concerning attendance last year and the drop off---Well if you play in near hurricane conditions and against a national championship game and 2 mid weekers ---yes it will hurt your attendance----but yes season tickets have and will again break all existing records by a pretty substantial amount--facts go Cajuns------- Hopefully No conflict games, mid weekers, or hurricanes!!! You will see 30K-35k---and the Cajuns are starting to sell out of their second allotment of tickets from Arkansas next week---ya'll pull for the Cajuns!!!@!

-Your bowl game was 2 hours away in your area. Thats like saying ASU couldnt Sell Double the tickets if ASU played In Little Rock and Laugheyette had to travel to Nashville.
-Nobody has published Ark St ticket Sales but word is it Higher than last 2 years. which would put it over 10k

Your not growing or having more sucess than half the SBC team. I would actually say the top 3 are growing pretty evenly

Good post. I get tired of all the smack talk too and I fall in to the trap and reply. Also, ULM is currently finishing a Tailgate Terrace, which is going to have tailgating spots in one end zone inside the stadium. Spaces are $5000 a season and we've sold all but one. Also we are breaking ground on our end zone facility in December as well.

Arrowhead, I have a simple questions and it is not smack. Do you have a link to an article that discussed ULM's endzone project? I have not found anything in the UL-System Boards meeting notes over the past year discussing approval for such a project.

You said all that to basically point out that UL-L Spends more money for less results.
-Asu is breaking ground on a 27mill dollar Football oporations center in spring. Will include endzone seating plus indoor facility.

Your not growing or having more sucess than half the SBC team. I would actually say the top 3 are growing pretty evenly

No, what it tells you is that wherever you think UL is, ASU is right between UL and ULM. FACT! Come back when you actually have something more then your opinion Jethro!

Come back when you lift the SBC trophy

RE: The Cajuns are one step ahead...
My Dad can beat your dad up! What is all this?

BTW, I am so rooting for UL when they play the pigs next week. Unfortunately for you guys, I think they plan to run the ball and control the clock and I don't think you guys can win. I sure wish you would.

Now back to the topic, which I think is characterized in my first sentence. UL and stAte are investing big money into upgrading facilities. So is Ga So. But you know who has the nicest facilities in the Sun Belt? Answer: Texas State.

I don't think anyone is spending money upgrading just to make a mostly lateral jump to CUSA. CUSA is not the Holy Land. They have a slight edge in TV contract and bowl bids and that is it.

It's all about building fan bases and raising money and national perception for your individual school. Nationally, nobody cared if Boise was in the WAC, MWC or Big East. Same for TCU.

The Sun Belt can be really great in the next three or four years with the recent additions (except for Idaho). It's better to quit worrying about realignment and just enjoy your team. You can't control realignment and UL, Ga So, and stAte all have the same con that cab never be helped if CUSA doesn't change their model (TV market)

I just wish we could pull Southern Miss and La Tech and maybe WKU and MTSU back to Sun Belt. The rest of the teams and travel really don't excite me much.

Ric, CUSA already sold out of that game plan when they added LTU R aka La Tech, and WKU both markets smaller than UL.

Congrates!
you have 0 conference tittles and finished 2nd in attandance last season. Am I missing something here?

Please note that we finished second in attendance and one game was played in a hurricane I know I was activated and shipped out for that game I agree I want a conference title but we have two bowl victories .
