Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah.

Who in the hell wants to watch three hours of the triple option offense. I'd rather watch One Life to Live.

I'm so bummed Georgia Southern is joining. I couldn't think of a team with less future potential other than Georgia State.

Trivia: In the last 20 years how many schools that ran the triple option finished in the top 10?

I hope you don't really feel that way and this was just your way of asking for some attention. If you really "can't think of a team with less future potential"… well, you must have received your degree from an online school.

Which is why the majority of FBS schools run the triple option correct?

I thought you officially announced your retirement from this forum a while back? It was very dramatic if i remember correctly. Welcome back! We'll be sure to give you much more attention this time so you don't have to officially "retire" again.

I believe this is the third time you have attempted to inquire about this.

If you'd like to go back and read the post I didn't say I was permanently leaving. In fact, I even said I may be back.

I hope that little comprehension lesson helped you so maybe you'll stop asking the same question over and over.

PS

And really? Dramatic?

If you thought that was dramatic I bet you emotionally breakdown if the hot dog stand runs out of ketchup.

That's obviously going to be a low number, but I don't know that it's a fruitful argument anyway. GaSo seems all in on the TO, and until they have issues with it, I see no reason to change.

Off the top of my head, though, all I got is GaTech finishing just outside the top 10 a few years ago...and didn't Notre Dame run a variant in the late 80s/early 90s that they had some awesome years with?

Why do you think that is?

Because it is such an amazingly efficient style of offense?

Or do you think that no one uses it because it lacks in comparison to many different offensive styles and is often times ineffective against the speed and size of DB's and LB's in the FBS?

It produced one of the top two out of conference wins in Sun Belt history and we only play one FBS game a year. Look for more now that we are actually FBS.

I happen to think the Triple Option which is really just a play that the status quo has named our style offense, is a very exciting offense to watch. Much preferred by me over the "air raid" aka "Hatch Attack". There's one thing that rolls my eyes more than UGA's vanilla pro style offense and that's the two point OL cop a squat sissy boy stance of these spread teams, back peddle and protect the quarter back. Boring ! ! !

I know I'd much rather watch a team simply run the ball 98% of the game. Nothing gets my heart pounding like watching a RB run the ball through the gap 19 times in a row.

Seriously? You can't think of ANY National Champion that used the 3O regularly in the last 20 years? Not even one in the TITLE OF THIS THREAD?

Yes that's right UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA ran the 3O regularly during their most recent NC run. With Tim Tebow. Remember him? Here's a little reminder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A13tYMcmEf4

Look familar? That's one of the reasons the UF win was so awesome.

Whatever works, tires out and frustrates a defense, retains posession of the ball, and above all else, puts points on the board. We don't need a quarterback standing back there running some variation of the Hal Mummy "dink and dunk" (we've tried that) to matriculate the ball down the field. A little play action thrown in is nice if it gains yards and results in points, but like anything else, as the saying goes "it's a technique".

Must be why everyone runs the triple option and not just military academies and schools that can't recruit top athletes.

Its not common at the FBS level because the offense is designed to make up for recruiting deficiencies. There is nothing saying a 3O team cannot finish in the top 10. Georgia Tech nearly pulled it off a few years back.
