How about Miami of Ohio with 22 conference championships, 7 bowl wins, and a #10 ranked season as recent as 2003? Or how about Toledo with 13 conference championships, 7 bowl wins and 4 top 25 seasons, and a 5-1 home record vs top 25 BCS opponents?

Have defeated more high profile opponents in the last 5-6 years than the entire MAC combined. Also has an overall all time winning percentage of .610. Actually was much higher than this until last year's 3-9 season. In fact, prior to last 2 years, USF had a grand total of ONE losing season in history (albeit a short sampling of 15 years).

For rankings I was referring to the end od season, final AP Poll. There have been many more times where teams have made an appearance for a week or 2 mid season, the MAC had 4 just last year.

You claim that USF has had more high profile wins over the last 5 or 6 years than the MAC combined? Ok, let's look at top 25 wins since 2007-

USF- 4 (#13Kansas, 2008), (#18Florida State, #21WVU, 2009), (#16ND, 2011).
MAC- 4, just last year, I didn't bother going any further back. (#15Rutgers, #17Kent State, #21Cincinnati, #25Toledo).

Miami had a higher winning percentage for 15 years from 1972-1986 (.671) which included a three year run of 32-1-1. Toledo had a 15 year winning percentage of .660 ('69-'83) during which they had a 35 game winning streak, 5th longest in NCAA history. Just because teams have been playing a lot longer doesn't mean they haven''t had success.

No love for the double-Heisman backfield and three straight national championships? Plus a UNC-style cheating scandal?

I don't follow pro football, be it NFL or its minor league, the BCS.

That's not an accurate picture in the least. One some of those wins were 1-AA for some and some play much harder schedules than others. WMU, Nevada, BG, Miami (OH), and Toledo don't play anywhere as hard a schedule as ECU and they play in what on average is a much weaker conferences, WAC, MAC, Big West, Big Sky, etc.

Tulsa is below .500 over the last 20 years but has an 84-47 record over the last 10. The 10 previous years (30-81-1) were the worst in school history. Thank God we were great in basketball during that time.

Tulsa is definitely one of the best non-AQ football schools over the last 10 years. It goes to show that a program that is dead in the water can turn things around if the school makes the commitment AND hires the right people.

You missed several for USF. Don't have time now but I'll post them later but off the top of my head u missed #5 wvu, another top 15 wvu, a top 10 Louisville, top 20 Auburn, Clemson, Miami and others.

Ditto Houston. We were awful in the late nineties through about 2002. That was the worst the program has been in its entire history. Much better before and after that period. If you go with all time winning percentage we would be much higher and I suspect S Miss would be number 1.

Much better before and after that period. If you go with all time winning percentage we would be much higher and I suspect S Miss would be number 1.

Here is All-Time winning percentage (record):

1. Boise St .777 (254-72-2)
2. UTSA .667 (8-4)
3. Miami OH .615 (668-410-44)
4. CMU .601 (583-381-36)
5. Fresno St .594 (568-383-29)
6. Southern Miss .589 (551-380-25)
7. Bowling Green .585 (505-350-52)
8. USF .579 (84-61)
9. BYU .575 (530-388-26)
10. Army .573 (654-481-51)
10. La Tech .573 (522-385-34)
12. Tulsa .567 (583-442-27)
13. Hawaii .563 (532-410-26)
14. WMU .556 (529-419-24)
15. Navy .551 (664-535-58)
16. Toledo .548 (492-403-24)
17. Air Force .545 (350-291-13)
18. SD State .535 (270-234-8)
19. Houston .532 (388-341-15)
20. NIU .529 (501-444-38)
21. Troy .527 (77-69)
22. Ball St .523 (421-383-32)
23. North Texas .519 (411-379-31)
24. ECU .518 (405-376-12)
25. UCF .517 (106-99)

Since many of those teams' wins/losses includes years as Small College/Div II/IAA/FCS a correction needs to be made. UTSA was FCS for 1 year so that year must be included as well. If so,

UTSA would be #18 at .545 (12-10)

Also, although not on someone's list but....
MTSU would be #12 at .571 (535-398-28)
WKU would be #7 at .583 (524-371-31)

FIFY

Better check your math. Your wiki page is not updated

189 games 111 wins and 78 loses

.587 is your current win %

You're right. They didn't add in last year's debacle. My bad.

Wrong. USF is 111-78, for a .587 percentage.

Wrong. USF is 111-78, for a .587 percentage.

I think some of these records are a mix of FCS/Div2/Div1 records while some are all Div1/FBS. Still, it is interesting information.
