It's actually pretty smart. They know they are going to win game 1 and they know their fans will show up to the ball park. They'll have a 24+ hour break before the winner's bracket game.

I've been watching the South Alabama game, and I saw the end of the Troy game. I've been very impressed with what I've seen from two of our future conference schools. I will be pulling for/watching all the games in the tournament with SBC teams (I might not watch FAU since when we get there they'll be gone). I can't wait to play y'all in our conference schedule. Go SBC, and go App!

SHSU has this Cajun fan very nervous. You never know what Cajun team will show up when it comes time for post season play. I hope it is the one that showed up against South Al for the Belt tourney and not the one that showed up for FAU!

Sam was one win away from a super regional last year.

USA got out to a big lead and coasted to a 9-4 win. Louisiana, you're up!! Good luck!

I mentioned that to Barry on SportsLine early in week when discussion got on to Bama and Troy playing today. He told me that he knew for a fact that there were several programs (including Auburn) who have Pierce ranked top of their short lists.

I believe Logan Pierce had a lot to do with keeping him when Alabama came calling a couple of seasons ago. He demanded a "new" stadium, and he got it (thank God), but I think it was his son that was the ultimate decision maker. This time we won't have that leverage, Troy is going to have to give him whatever he wants or we lose him IMHO.

He does have another son that was on a state championship team...probably gonna be a Trojan...still good to watch it play itself out.
