I hate to say it, but I could see CUSA reconsidering adding App State, especially now that ODU and Charlotte are members. We'd be good travelling partners with Charlotte. If App received an invite, I hope we stick with the SBC.

Arkansas State and ULL will be here.
I imagine uta is here to stay..even if restarting football

Don't sweat Texas State. We're here until someone begs us to join them, sends us the filled out paperwork, and calls to remind us that we need to sign the paperwork and send it to them.

I'm not going to lie, I would support App moving to a league with other nearby non-BCS schools (ECU, ODU, Marshall, UNCC, JMU, GaSo, etc) but such a league doesn't exist and I doubt it will anytime soon. That being said I'm excited to be in the SBC, look forward to many years in the conference, and am not looking for nor want/expect a move to any of the other conferences as current composed.

With that said USA will probably never "move up" from the Sun Belt unless it's to the AAC or if USM moves to the AAC. Otherwise USM would probably block us every time.
USM has a better change of moving to the AAC than UAB does and UAB is a block for us.

Yes as the conferences are setup now the Belt is the best place for us to be. Now after a few years of travel expenses the non-BCS conferences want to realign to form more regional conferences then sign me up.

The folks that are "planning on staying" are the one's that don't get invites to go elsewhere.

If the truth hurts, so be it. Name one Sun Belt team that has received an invite to another conference this year that has not accepted. The only schools that are remaining in the conference are those with no invite. If ASU and ULL get invited, they will be gone. Troy, USA, ULM and the newbies would then make up the conference.

I couldn't see leaving without CrAppy. And, I'm fairly certain the Appy fans feel the same way. There is way WAY too much bad blood binding us. I think the Sun Belt is our permanent home, unless someone bigger wants a package deal.

TROY wont be going anywhere anytime soon. Our market holds us back...If im not mistaken on paper we do bring the Montgomery market. which is about a 400,000 metro area, But TROY sits about 35-40 mins South of Montgomery.
Basketball also hold us back some as well. But I think we are going to improve on that.

Come on, you know App State and GaSo are the best thing to happen to Troy since BBQ.
Also, I 2nd that...wouldn't ever want to change conferences except if App went with Troy and GaSo. So it's either make the Sun Belt the best or die trying. There will be blood!

RE: Who is plaining on staying?
Honestly, I don't see App leaving in the next few years. I doubt a re-evaluation by CUSA is in the cards, and now that things have worked out with Ga Southern coming along, I think the SBC is looking really exciting. I really hope that Arkansas State and LLU don't bail. I understand how they are feeling about the "move ups" (not "start ups") but I think that two or three years will help change their perspective. The "move ups" that SBC picked up are head and shoulders better than what CUSA got. I would love to grow our program and our brand right here and help the SBC develop as well. If JMU actually joined the SBC, the SBC becomes it would be almost ideal. Hopefully we can develop non-conference series with ODU and UNCC and give the SBC some head to head wins against CUSA.

We've got a lot of programs in the SBC that's committed to winning, so hopefully the wins by the newbies come sooner rather than later. I believe that Texas State plays a struggling Southern Miss for their first game as a Sun Belt member so this is our opportunity to start the season 1-0 against C-USA.
