They won't be in the first 4. Prob a 15 seed... could get a 16, but not one of the worst 2.

No, they are clearly in the First 4. The first 4 is the 4 worst 16 seeds. Liberty is one right now James Madison is another.

No, only 2 are 16 seeds. The other 2 are bubble teams like VCU that year. JMU is clearly ahead of both Liberty and whoever comes out of the MEAC for 2. There are other bad teams yet to punch their tickets as well.

68 team field. 8 teams go to Dayton and play each other, 16vs16, 16vs16 and final four at large teams.

Those 8 teams become 4 and then we have a 64 team tournament. I really hope I'm not wrong because I spend about 2 hours a day on it, might as well hang it up.

Yep. It pisses me off that "Old Dominion" is on the trophy. We weren't even allowed in the fuggin tournament. The winner of this tournament isn't deserving of an automatic bid. JMU never should have won this tournament (Delaware gift) in the first place, or the '94 tournament. (ODU gift)

No offense. A championship counts the same whether it be 7 teams or 11 teams. Why should that matter? As long as the CAA exist JMU will always be known as 2013 champs.

THe MEAC has much better RPI's still available for their winner. NSU, NCCU have better RPIs.

JMU may be in that game........and not the worst thing.....ask VCU.

It matters because winning a more competitive tournament is more impressive. A tournament with more teams and better competition is a more impressive feat. JMU will "always be known" as the 2013 CAA champs like Mississippi Valley St will "always be known" as the 2012 SWAC champions.

Indeed. Rooting for Coen's crew. Any ODU fan rooting for JMU is insane. I don't care if we are in the same state.

No intention of watching or rooting for anyone. Couldn't really care less who wins. Last night's episode of Vikings as well as the Following on tap for tonight.

The Following is so effing good! I really don't like that girl though. Lol. She needs to die.

That show is freaking horrible! I watched three episodes and couldn't take it anymore.

Every "twist" was beyond predictable and Kevin bacon seems like he should rather be doing absolutely anything else on earth than acting in that show. Considering I watch shows like mad men, breaking bad, walking dead and game of thrones, maybe my standards are a bit too high, but my god, that show was dreadful. They laid out every "twist" 5 minutes into the show.

I like Poe....but that show nearly ruined it for me.

Also, f.ck jmu, can't wait to watch them get pasted as a 16 seed by Indiana or gonzaga. The only reason they don't be in the play in game is because of liberty and the swac winner.

Welcome to the real world d.ckheads, your first NCAA appearance in 20 years will be an extremely short and painful one. They still will have zero NCAA tourney wins in program history.

They are absolutely going to be a 16 seed.

And don't kid yourself, they are right on the cusp of a play in game. Their rpi is right around 200 and their SOS is 275ish.

At 19-14 against d-1 teams, they are staring a play in game directly in the face unless some big time favorites lose in their conference tournies.

What a pathetic, horrendous drop for the Caa, from a final 4 and 3 teams in the dance only two years ago to a potential play in game in 2013.

Great job Yeager! Well done. What an absolute dumpster fire of a conference.

There are 4 total play in games to widdle it down to 64 from 68.

Two 16 seeds will be eliminated and two 12/11 seeds will be eliminated. There are 4 total play in games. Jmu is staring one of those play in games directly in the face. I believe that have the 2nd worst SOS of any team in the tourney right now AND the second worst rpi.

Liberty is first in both, therefore it stands to reason that without a few more upsets in conference tourney's jmu will be joining liberty and two other teams in the play in game.

My sincere wish is that they get bounced in the play in game, never even getting the opportunity to get destroyed by Indiana or gonzaga. If that happened, it would almost be like they weren't even in the tourney in the first place!

F.ck the Caa, we are no longer a part of it and f.ck jmu, their fanbase sucks and is full of insanely jealous little geeks. I still do not understand how any of you supposed odu fans could ever justify rooting for jmu or hoping they join us in cusa. As it stands right now, we are vastly superior to them. Why would you want to throw them a potential lifeline from their sinking conference ship and bring them back up to our level????

Oh because they are a "rival"? Bs.....they were a rival 20 years ago. We've completely and thoroughly passed them in every way. We took their fbs invite, we've swept them in football, we've landed superior recruits, in basketball we've absolutely destroyed them for the last 2 decades (this year aside), our fanbase is vastly superior. The only argument is that we need a close rival but I say bs, we will develop new rivalries just like we did in the Caa! When we were in the metro, gmu was never our rival, that rivalry developed over the years. The jmu rivalry faded into oblivion until we got football.

Don't support throwing them a life raft, watch them sink and laugh and understand their demise just means more success for us in the state of va. The last thing any of us should want to do is to create another rival or team that could steal bball or football recruits from us. They are a fcs football team and will be a 16 seed in the NCAA tourney in bball......lets leave it like that.

My bad, I was wrong about the pay in games. I do hope JMU does not get a play in game. That would give the CAA a chance to double their revenue. Their RPI was 175 before last night's win. I still think that will be good enough to keep them as a 15 or a non play in 16.

RE: Meanwhile, at the CAA Tournament Today.........
As of right now, I'd be willing to bet good money on them being in the play in game.

The odds 3 more teams worse than them all win their conference tourneys are very very slim.

The odds of 6 teams worse than them winning conference tourneys are ZERO. They will be a 16 seed no matter what. The only real question is whether they will be in a play in game or not.

"When we were in the metro...." Huh???

Since ODU went DI in 1976, I recall being in the ECAC, then Sun Belt, to CAA and now to CUSA. Don't recall being in the Metro.

Sadly, despite the long drought, they still have just as many tournament wins as we do: 3

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...am1Id=6261

James Madison Dukes
Tournament Appearances: 4
Final Fours: 0
Championships: 0
Win-Loss: 3-4

Old Dominion Monarchs
Tournament Appearances: 11
Final Fours: 0
Championships: 0
Win-Loss: 3-11

Wow I had no idea that were that good in the early 80's.

I knew they had never won a tourney game while in the Caa.....I didn't bother to check that they had won 3 games before they joined the Caa. Those are some solid wins, credit where credit is due.

Piss poor performance in Richmond by Northeastern. Their hangover from our game really carried over. They looked totally unprepared for us, Mason (blew it!), and the Dukes.
