From my understanding, nothing went wrong. This was the way it was always expected to be. We were told months ago that there would be a meeting in March where the Pres/ADs would discuss (possibly decide) on how many teams the SBC wanted to add. On-site visits would take place over the next 30-60 days. Then another meeting in May to decide on official invites and "end" the process.

Today's PC seems line up perfectly with what was told back in December.

I'd like to inquire where the Liberty stuff suddenly came from? I've checked the FlamesFans.com message board a couple of times this afternoon and there's not one thread or one post about realignment. Not one! Our seven or eight message boards have been on f-i-r-e for more than a year. Seems odd! 03-confused

Of course, we as fans make no decisions, but one would think Liberty fans would be at least a tad curious!

I don't think it is a lack of curiosity. I think it is that the powers that be do not leak information as much so we are in the dark until something happens.

I'm pretty sure it did end today for appy and GSU but the official school announcements will be a long time from now.

There weren't going to announce any decisions until April. But it sounds like agreements weren't honored because UL, ASU and ULM held firm on no Sam Houston or any other SLC program right now. My suspicion is no concensus could be reached on NMSU after the votes for App State and Georgia Southern. Tempers probably flared once that happened.

Why? It can't be because of facilities because I'm willing to bet they're as good or better than anyone's in the SB. Because they are a "religious" school?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE....let's not start this argument again.

You would be correct. The whole NMSU thing is the hold up. Some tempers flared when it was time to vote on them. Seems the East schools want to go East and the West schools want to go West. East schools don't want NMSU. ASU, ULM, and ULL have established a relationship with NMSU and would gladly allow them back in.

I wonder if the SGA would let a student run KKK group join just because they don't lynch black people anymore...

I suppose human dignity is more important to me than sports facilities.

It's clear those in the east have their own agenda. Supposedly a agreement was in place for UL, ASU and ULM to vote for App. State and Georgia Southern, for the agreement to keep out SLC programs right now. Once someone pushed Sam Houston, that agreement was broke.

Who pushed for SHSU? Is Georgia State in the room participating? Texas State?

Why in the world would any school be pushing for SHSU?!? Just because they've been to the last two FCS championships? If so, that's some pretty stupid logic.

Why would there need to be an agreement to keep out SLC programs?

Boosters would NOT be thrilled at stAte, UL, or ULM to be reunited with those schools we left behind long ago.

Texas State does not get a vote right now.

NMSU is an FBC program, why the hell even discuss SHSU.

SHSU would destroy NMSU on the field. But, true that they are not FBS and NMSU is FBS.

So did they actually vote on anything such as at least going to 10? Or is just a general thought they will At some point choose between 10 or 12?
