I like Coach K's attitude----"we are playing for a division championship Saturday and we are looking to hang up a banner"-------screw the MAC, if they don't like it.
Hope there is a decent Rocket turnout at Eastern Saturday.

If we win Saturday against Eastern, we will clinch at least a share of the MAC West. Even though the MAC will not recognize UT as the West Champs, Coach K said that they are still going to put up a banner for the division championship! Go Rockets! Win the West!
Love it! It gives the team something to play for--a way to "communicate a message" to the MAC and the NCAA. (A message that can also be communicated with a simple gesture.)
Right now, this team probably earns a NIT berth if we had no sanctions. I think next year, we'll be making travel plans for first round NCAA tournament. But, I know I am way ahead...
Granted, it was against Northern Illinois, but that was more of how I hoped to see the Rockets close out this season. Since I was critical of the loss to Ball State, I want to be fair and say "thanks" to the Rockets & coaching staff (who looked quite intense most of last night's game!) for re-grouping. I really do believe that a win at Eastern would be HUGE for setting the stage for next season. A win gives us a winning season overall (not something I expected at the half-way point of this season), and at least a share for the West Division champs--with a LOT more bodies & talent to put on the floor next season.
Speaking of which...am I missing something (or, someone)? I only see 2 guys at the end of the bench dressed in the navy & grey warmups--shouldn't there be three? The 2 transfers and Aubrey Williams?

I think the one who wasn't there was Justin Drummond (since he has been wearing a boot, and I didn't see anyone wearing a boot last night). It is currently Spring Break, and Justin is from Maryland, and since he can't practice, I bet Coach K let him go home. Just like over Christmas break, he let the 2 transfers (and possibly Williams?) stay home a couple extra days since they can't play.
