Only one team played bad in the second half, and it wasn't Cincinnati.

Are you joking Crunch?? We were abysmal. Thank God you guys had an off first half.

From the descriptions in this thread, I don't see anything to whine about frankly. I'm sure opposing teams and fans have lots of fun stories about trips to UC.

It's ironic.. VPI fans whine and moan about WVU all the time, but when I went to Blacksburg it was BY FAR worse than anything I ever saw opposing fans enduring in Morgantown.

it's called college sports, and i don't see it changing any time soon. Be glad that you are going to full arenas in the Big East with rowdy fans. You could be playing in front of a couple thousand a night in CUSA right now.

dude...spare me....before this year UC basketball was sold out on a regular basis and Huggs always played a national schedule, even if CUSA was less than spectacular....this years UC basketball, while down is no way indicative of UC basketball history, either recent or long haul. UC basketball was rated the 10th best program of all time and we are used to winning. YOU guys are johnny-come-lately and except last year have not done much in the last 20 years in hoops. So please...don't act like what you see from the Cats this year on the hard wood is the norm at UC. WVA has done NOTHING to add to UC hoops. But hey, thanks for kicking us when we are down....nice

PS: When you get as many national titles, final fours and ncaa wins as UC...come back and talk smalk......

What are you talking about? Did you even read what I posted? I wasn't talking smack about UC and I said nothing about UC's team this year.

I'm talking about the UC posters complaining about the supposed disrespectful treatment of their team by WVU fans at the WVU/UC game. And my point is this: there was nothing that took place at the WVU game that isn't par for the course in most rival arenas, including UC's.

Or do you claim that UC fans are all angels?

You UC fans seem to be a little too used to playing against small-fry CUSA teams on the road... apparently a little chanting by the student section gets you all into a tizzy. Hope you never have to play a game at Cameron Indoor against the Dookies. That might send your fans into nervous-breakdown mode.

As for UC, I'm well aware of its history. You may recall that a certain former WVU coach had a good bit of success during his time with UC.

Even in CUSA - UC played at plenty of volatile arenas. Charlotte was one of the worst, they were brutal.

UC plays at Xavier every other year.

And no, UC fans are not angels. Every team has their share of bad apples.

But if, "Get a real coach" was said - that is shameful in my opinion and a direct attack on Andy Kennedy. Say all you want about the team, school, etc. in general, but calling out Andy Kennedy and saying he is not a real coach is pretty low.

-- I think y'all are making a mountain out of a mole hill here....First, I didn't even here this chant at the game. The only thing I unmistakenly heard was "Just like Football".

-- However...if it did. I think that is just because the WVU students are unfamilier with the situiaton. Imagine if you were just watching a team for the first time and that formentioned team had a player (Eric Hicks) that just dominated the first half. However, in the second half that team didn't even look to pass the ball to the player who had down so much in the first half. In fact, instead of getting there best player the ball, the team's guards just ran down the floor and shot wild shots all second half. Now if you were watching a team full of seniors that you were unfamilar with go away from there best player and run offensive sets that weren't real far from street ball, what would you think? I would think one of two things....#1 this coach has no idea what he is doing offensivly or #2 He has no control over his team because obviously the players aren't doing what there coach tells them to do. After watching UC play just on Saturday, I don't think that is unlogical thinking for someone who has never seen them before

I think Andy Kennedy probably took it in stride. I'm sure he's heard alot worse.

Believe me - the stuff that WVU fans and players have to endure at opposing arenas and stadiums are far far far worse than "get a real coach." Have you read the WVU student newspaper account of some of the stuff that went on at the Suger Bowl w/ the UGA fans? WVU gets a bad rap for fan behavior, but maybe its because we are the focus of an incredible amount of derision and taunting wherever we go. When teams come to our home court or stadium, don't be surprised when some of that gets fed back to the opposition.

I realize that night in and night out CUSA was not like playing in the Big East.....however, two points:

1. most years, UC was everybody's #1 game and so the road games in CUSA were sold out and the teams we played gave us their best shot....

2. Huggs played an national schedule and so we annualy played teams like Maryland, Arizona, Duke (beat them), UNC (beat them), etc. etc. etc. so although we didn't play night in night out in the Big East, we played a good schedule in front of hostile crowds......

yes, playing in the Big East has affected our WL but this is also the worst UC team in years.....if UC was entering BE this year with teams that had Fortson, or KMart, or Logan I can assure you, BE or not we would not be 4-5 in the conference right now....

Lastly, UC fans do their share of shelling out of crap...I know, I used to sit in the student section and was very vocal and rude........

Hey, this is how it's supposed to be....we are aren't supposed to be buddy buddy....I'm glad to see that perhaps a new rivalry is brewing.....

See ya in the Shoe.....
