Obviously, now that MTSU has accepted an invite to C-USA, they would have no interest in moving to the MAC. At least not right now. My hypothetical was on if MTSU was still chained to the Belt. I believe that if MTSU had not already accepted an invite to the MAC, then they would be open to a possible invite to the MAC. I think most Sun Belt schools would be.

I personally feel that a move to the MAC could be detrimental in the short term for WKU, but good in the long term. Obviously there would be small recruitment hurtles that would occur, but I don't think they would be as impacting as some previous posts have indicated.

I'd take the Belt as it presently stands over being an outlier in the MAC. Another round of Belt defections might change that, but I digress, it would take a lot for me to willfully agree to swap games in November in the south for games in the Midwest.

No way to the MAC, no rivals at all. Venues for football are too cold too early. They do play good football but its stay in the SBC or move to CUSA for me.

For me, it's 50/50.

I enjoy a lot of the football the MAC plays, but I'm a Northern boy who lived in Ohio most of his life. Rivalries can always be retained from previous conferences in the form of OOC games and new rivalries can always develop within the conference. Give two teams a 1-1 record against each other with close wins and a rivalry can develop pretty quickly.

As the situation stands right now, my preference would be to stay in the Belt with StAte and the Louisianas. C-USA is also an option that I would take, as several old "friends" are over there and I always lovethose game.

I would not say no to a MAC invite, though. Sometimes, unfortunately, perception is everything in the NCAA and a move to the MAC could end up doing WKU some good, especially with Petrino at the helm for a short time. Even when Petrino leaves, a solid coach will be more likely to sign to a MAC team, than to a Sun Belt team, so I think it could work out well for us.

Yep, they 'should' win. But I have my doubts that FSU will finish the game. NIU will keep coming, even if FSU takes a large, early lead.

I expect it to be close....much closer than anyone could guess.

Or could it be that Florida state was the better team? There isn't a defensive line even remotely resembling the Noles in the MAC.

As a fan I never want to be in the MAC....

SBC or CUSA are the only choices for me

I would hate to travel in this like I did on Dec 26th



Got out of that as soon as possible...out of Detroit 20 minutes after the game was over.

Much rather travel to any SBC city or with in a few hours drive and spend the weekend..
