I hope CTM is half as good at recruiting athletes as he is at recruiting assistants.

Not so fast my friend. Has UK struggled the last two years? No doubt about it, but before Joker was coach Rich Brooks took UK to 5 straight bowl games. In that span we beat Clemson, FL State, GA, LSU & SC. The new staff just hired will get things back on track. Neil Brown from TxTech is the new OC and Mark Stops is the new head coach.

And as far as WKY having better athletes, just not true. Better coached? YES. Instate kids that end up at WKY are there b/c UK and UofL didn't offer them.

Several points. It is totally unacceptable that a UKY grad would not know that it is WKU, not WKY (but such is the arrogance). It is wrong to say that the only in-state athletes that come to WKU are ones that weren't offered by UK or U of L. Not everyone in the state of KY dreams of going to a SEC cellar dweller who manages to get into a bowl game by beating two weak SEC teams and four high school teams. (I know that until this year WKU was one of those, but it won't be again.. as I expect WKU to win this upcoming season at which time UK will refuse to play them in the future). A large number of KY kids with great talent (of which there are not a huge amount, which is why Willie T recruited so heavily in GA and FL) go out of state. WKU is not winning games because of their large contingent of in-state players as only 2 starters this season (Doyle and Andrews) were from KY.
I think the lack of elite in-state talent is why UK has struggled in the past and having a coach who can pull elite talent out of other states will enable UK to be more successful in the future.
