Yes, but it would be being kind to say that anyone here is even tepid to the idea of Liberty joining.
Whether for rational reasons or not, the fans have spoken and no one wants Liberty. And the idea that we speak as fans and don't necessarily reflect the opinions of our administration should go without saying, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, until something of substance comes along linking Liberty to the Sun Belt, there's just no point going down this road anymore because it's clear what the opinion of this board is.

If you're tired of reading "no one wants Liberty" why do you keep coming here? No one wants Liberty.
^^That^^ is the problem. If you want to say "no fans want Liberty", then go right ahead. The blanket statements that come from a position where you have no facts is what incites the outcries.
He may not be able to speak for every fan that exists but as for this board; I believe there was a vote not too long ago and Liberty didnt do well in it. Especially if you take out all of the Liberty fans who voted for their own school.
I've got nothing against Liberty, we've played many times in the past and as for their views, I am sure not all of their students believe the same things.
My advice at this point Liberty is to keep raking in the money, keep building up your program and one day one of these conferences will be forced to accept you in order to survive. Until then, don't frequent so many boards that doesn't seem to want you (that smells of desperation). Be proud of who you are.
And you ar here Why? I post here because they have 2 openings. so do you.

I (and other LU folks) post here because of 2 reasons:
1- Like it or not, SBC is the traditional FCS move up conference.
2- SBC has 2 openings.
Smoke or not, those are 2 good reasons to post here.
One more point. More to what Paul said that what you said. I am glad that the decision process weighs out many different factors. That is the way it should be and the way the Comissioners and CEOs will handle it. The issue is that many on here choose to focus on one or 2 factors and not even consider anything else.

And that's fine as well, but its foolish to expect people to stop saying they don't want Liberty, because they aren't going to stop not wanting Liberty.

This is why I lurk here. I know it's a very slim chance that SHSU gets called up, but I still like being here so I know more about the conference if by some crazy happenstance we get that invite.
People on this board were saying they didn't want SWT (TXST) not even a year ago, and now look. Bobcats and the rest of the SBC fans are the best of buds. Liberty, and most other FCS programs for that matter, will continue to have resistance from fans until invited. Just have to deal with it until the SBC proves them wrong and gives you an invite sooner or later.

I don't expect that at all, but know that other LU folks will continut to back. I just think it's important to remember that the SBC has been and will continue to be an FCS move up conference. Most SBC schools are not that far removed from LU's situation.
