It means:
- We are not rural/small-market.
- Dominating the SBC would mean very little in our town.
- We don't build on converted farmland, we buy and occupy converted office buildings.
- We are the second largest school in a top-four recruiting state.
- We are only the third FBS school in said top-four recruiting state.
- We operate top-quality business and law schools one two block from the capitol building of our state.

Basically, we are operating in an environment that most SBC schools share very little in common with.

This is likely a repeat for everyone else but isn't UL the University of Louisville to the general public?

Appalachian State is ASU, but 40 something states would say that was Arizona St. Now of course I've pissed off Arkansas St., Alabama St., and Alcorn St. fans.

You just proved the fallacy of your first statement with your second. Way to go, Einstein.

No I used ASU as an example, you tend to misread posts. Appalachian State is an "ASU", but to most people ASU is AZ State. Much like UL is Louisville to the majority of the nation.

But, there are a lot of schools with the same letters. Which one takes priority? None do.

UT - Texas and Tennessee
UM - Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Maryland
OSU - OK State, Oregon State, Ohio State
USC - S Carolina, Southern Cal
ASU - all the schools you mentioned
Etc.

Louisville goes by U of L. Louisiana goes by UL. So what if the only 2 schools using UL get a little confused. It happens with all of the schools mentioned above.

Look, we have branded ourselves (legally) as Louisiana. If UL is used by anyone to reference us, why should it matter to anyone? I fail to understand why felow conference members would not recognize us that way, especially with UL Monroe branding itself as ULM which everyone has accepted. We both have our identities like Nevada and UNLV or Cal and UCLA who are also in the same respective conferences. Why let this continue to be so divisive for this conference?

Over time A-State has slowly come into prominence for Arkansas State.

Thought the State of Louisiana turned down your petition to be called UL.
Why are you ULL under the Sun Belt Teams at the top of each page?

Multiple schools use ASU. Many schools use MSU. Yet somehow only one school can use UL? Give me a ******* break !

Oh yeah, and Application State is still not wanted.

The state has nothing to do with athletic marketing. But if it makes you feel better you can legally use Louisiana when referring to us.

As for the references on the Belt website, that is due to the constant whining by ulm fans who want to dictate how another program should be branded and a spineless douchebag who formally held the commissioner's job.

Not sure if I'm allowed (I'm sure Z, Hamma, &/or VO will let me know if I'm outta line), but I've always wanted to do this.....

Thank you for your interest in the University of Louisiana's athletic program.

Makes me real sad that a two month poster doesn't want us. Man, hate that.
So, the posters that list their "I Root For:" as ULL are just wrong.
OK, doesn't matter to me. If you want to be called ULL then we can all do that.

Not as sad as pimps from a non-member wanna be polluting this site with unsolicited garage. And when it comes to what Application State calls UL, I just consider the source.

Calm down dude. You really need to read what is written vs. inferring and trying to pick a fight where there isn't one. You can use whatever you want. Many teams can use the same acronym but the general public tends to think of one meaning over others. ASU is a prime example, as is USC, OSU, UT, etc. Are you this angry in everyday life?
