What are you going to do go back to the MWC? Hey good luck to you if you do. You are Boise's tag along. If Boise fans complain that's one thing, but you should just be happy you were choosen to be their token travel buddy instead of SJSU, Fresno, or whoever else that wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

You still don't get it. Boise doesn't get into the BW without us. They aren't taking Boise's non-FB sports without getting SDSU basketball.

As for what we would do? Maybe we start a new western conference and convince SMU/Houston to come with us.

No your not, this year your TEAM is a top 35ish team. How many top 25 finishes in football do you have? Top Ten? Bowl wins? Wins over Top 25 teams? Have you beat top 25 teams every decade for the past 3 decades?

I give you basketball, but as to the others I'll counter with top 35 programs in baseball and softball. Baseball being top 25 in attendance. Heck we were the only non-BCS program to have all of it's spring sports make the postseason in 2010 and one of only 14 in the D-1.

. . . either will a Big East with ECU and without Louisville, Cincy, Rutgers and Uconn.

Now, if we only lose Rutgers, then we probably survive in some form or fashion.

Marshall If Louisville is gone. That is what most eastern schools want anyway.
When you look at the MWC with BSU and SDSU and the 10 they have now and look at this conference they are about even. The best news is that is probably the worst case scenario for everyone.

If the BE loses Rutgers and UConn then the only institutions similar to SMU (US News rankings anyway) will be a few bball schools.

Most of the football programs will be mid to upper 100's in regards to US News, with a few ranked RU/VH by Carnegie.

I understand your point, just not sure it will mean much if all this breaks loose as speculated.

The good news is everyone should survive in decent shape. If anyone is screwed if the Big East implodes it is C-USA. They back-filled way to fast.
