Fact of the matter is, it's not as unsafe as some would like to believe. Atlanta is not some post apocalyptic, lawless state where anything goes.

All due respect, guys, but are either of you fathers? You make different decisions on risk-taking, no matter how slight it may seem to you now, when you have young kids to consider.

Exactly. No more road rage, either.

Alls I'm saying is the parking deck that has a ton of traffic due to the game that is only a couple feet from the arena is not dangerous at 9PM. Even for small children. I don't have kids myself, but I would absolutely bring my 9 year old sister to a game in Atlanta.

I'm glad the game time makes this decision easy for me.

Whenever this subject comes up I always wonder if people realize how dangerous a Braves game is.

Yes, at any moment you might forced to eat at a TGIFridays or sit in a mall while your wife shops for copies of clothes she already owns.
Not for inner-city softies.

Haha....that's funny. And, true.

If you are literally afraid to walk 50 feet from the parking deck to the arena, you might as well stay in your suburban bubble. I saw a guy get decked in a suburban mall, but that doesn't allow me to make the sample represent the whole. I've heard it all now.03-lmfao

18 and 19 yr old kids actually camp outside the arena for EVERY home game.

I have been to GSU twice and I have been to Atlanta over 20 times. Atlanta is not as safe as some of you would like to believe at night, especially to tourist. I got lost one day and I swear the homeless people had been practicing the same line to use like they were working for a company. Lol I would ask for directions and get "Ah man you think you can spare a few dollars for a brotha trying to make it....I know you got some money" My favorite was when I asked this guy for directions and he said go over to this unlit area to ask these four guys for directions in hoodies.

The campus itself is safe but Atlanta is no place for children at night time whether your taking about danger or people coming back from clubbing. I don't have kids but if I did I would prefer for my kids not to see some rather voluptuous female wearing shorts that were made to someone the size of Paris Hilton.

This thread has hit the "whatever" level. Maybe you'll still be trotting around downtown at night when you have small children of your own to worry about. I, like many adults, have made a different decision on when and where I'll take them based on my 20+ years of living in the area and the experiences I've had.
BTW, telling me that 18-19 year old college students think it's a good idea isn't exactly going to buoy my confidence. Many of them probably think funneling beer and whip-its are pretty awesome too.

I like a cheerleader who can kick some ass, Panama. You are talking about chicks, right? I'll take the 3 in the middle of the 1st row for my main course and the third from the left of row 3 for dessert. Actually most of the ones in the first 3 rows are suitable for my butt-kickin' but not that albino one in the middle...she scares me. I'll leave the top row for Saint. Make it happen, big daddy.

No one is telling you to wonder the streets of ANYWHERE with kids at night. But, to say that if the game was at night that you wouldn't come is stupid. Get a gps so you don't have to ask for directions. Also, "Many of them probably think funneling beer and whip-its are pretty awesome too" actually took it to "whatever" level

LOL, Funny since WSB Channel 2 spends their mornings reporting armed robberies and aggravated assaults from Cobb, Gwinnett and North Fulton. But as has been already said, whatever.
