I will be surprised if we make it out of the next week without a loss to someone. Still not sure what this team is made of yet.
This team is made of sand, grit and tiger's blood. Have some faith, brother Tig. We'll show up in Atlanta.

I'll be there with my two kids. I'm hoping there will be some available parking since it's the day before Thanksgiving.
Didn't even think about that! Downtown traffic at 3 pm the day before Thanksgiving. Ouch

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad it's early. I would probably not bring two young kids down there for a night game.

RE: MBB: GSU 62 vs. BYU 80
GSU in the Sun Belt? Way too early to say it is a bad add. Now it should all be about football games on the field, not potential eyes on television, but that IS what is driving all these conference moves. The SEC did not need TAMU or Mizzou for on field respect.
GSU will be one of the trips I will make. Why? I like Atlanta, not as much as Houston, or New Orleans where I currently live, but I really do like Atlanta, and I can drive there in one day. That is the only reason I do not like FAU and FIU, just a little too far for this fan.
Now I can go to GSU instead of FIU, and to FAU if the conference is smart enough to make those road games on separate years.
Now finally to the football quality? It would be a fool to say GSU is terrible and this will be it for decades. They have a lot of work to do, and it appears they have the money to do it. It seems to me there is every reason to believe they will be competitive within four seasons, maybe sooner. If you question this you are simply blind to what happens all the time if college football where the strong stay strong, but everything below moves up and down often.

RE: MBB: GSU 62 vs. BYU 80
I definitely wish our game vs USA was a little later. Maybe I'll sneak out of work early. Shouldn't be anyone here anyway.
I love that there are people in here saying we are a bad team because we're 0-2.... vs Duke and BYU. Good luck to y'all with that kind of opening schedule. We started out 0-3 last season and proceeded to win 22 games. This team is going to have an immediate impact in the Sun Belt. Don't worry about us.

I guess I should have expounded. I am personally not afraid of going downtown regardless of the time of day but when it comes to my kids I am going to err on the side of caution and try to avoid walking around that area later in the evening. I and my family recently had a pretty unpleasant encounter with a less-than-upstanding citizen while riding the train and, although my two boys didn't realize it at the time, they were very close to either seeing Daddy win a fight or getting his head kicked in.

I'm sure your children will be find in the middle of a college campus with the GSU police, Atlanta police, capitol police, marta police, and GWCC police all having jurisdiction over the area. Also, i don't know if you realize this but we all camp out there before every home game. I think you'll be fine...

Plus the parking deck for basketball games, "G" Deck, is like 50 feet from the arena (on the Collins St. side).

Like I said, I like the game time because it'll be late afternoon/early evening when it's done and me and the boys will feel perfectly safe. I would feel less so at 9 or 10 at night walking to the car.

Carry pepper spray and a rape whistle. Dial 9 and 1 on your phone so you're one digit away from the cops. Hire a bodyguard. Just don't miss the game.

I appreciate all the fatherly advice. Your children are very lucky to have a wise mentor like yourself.

We have tougher cheerleaders than tribal. There are students walking from the library to Waffle House and the dorms at 10 pm at night. Cowboy Up.

Fact of the matter is, it's not as unsafe as some would like to believe. Atlanta is not some post apocalyptic, lawless state where anything goes.

Yes, at any moment you might forced to eat at a TGIFridays or sit in a mall while your wife shops for copies of clothes she already owns.
Not for inner-city softies.
