RE: Hockey East to Invite UCONN
To put everything in context... there are 59 Division 1 schools. There are 5 conferences. Since 1989 (Harvard), I think each national champ has either played in Hockey East, the CCHA, or the WCHA. But the ECAC has had a bunch of Frozen Fours since then, like Union last year.

Three conferences are in the east:
Hockey East (10 teams, all in New England).
ECAC (12 teams: the 6 Ivies and 5 in upstate NY and also Quinnipiac in CT).
Atlantic Hockey (12 in New England, NY, PA, CT and also outlier Air Force).

Two are based in the Midwest:
CCHA (11 teams, mainly in Ohio and Michigan).
WCHA (12 teams, in Minn, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Colorado and Nebraska).
Each Midwest conference also has 1 team from Alaska.

In addition to these 57, there are 2 Indies this year: Alabama-Huntsville and Penn State.

16 teams make the NCAA tourney. This is a great sport with a ton of skill, strategy and hard hitting. Great athletes. Wide open play in the college game, and a ton of tradition.

There are more than 6 Ivy League schools. Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Brown and Dartmouth.

Right, I should have said "the 6 Ivies that play hockey"... Columbia and Penn don't have teams.

It won't surprise me if they did. They are bunch of small time thinkers full of envy in everything we do. It won't be long before we beat them on the ice as well. There are a ton of hockey talent in New England and nearby Canada.

There has been no thaw in the New England "Cold War".

If the story is true, BC has shown itself to be the most petty school on the North American continent.

This

Its funny too b/c u couldnt find their football and bball programs right now with search warrant...

See, I didn't know that. Most folks don't know a lot about college hockey.

I'm clueless when it comes to college hockey.

I'm close to clueless when it comes to college baseball.

Same here. I know a little bit about baseball since the conferences are pretty much the same.
