Wow, let's not go that far. In the last decade? Certainly. Overall? No.

BU and BC are both equal historically. Michigan is still the best college hockey program, despite not doing much since the late 90's and choking in the Frozen Four.

As I said in my original statement, no team other than Michigan in the early 60's has been this dominant. I never said that BC was the most successful program in the entire history of college hockey. I said that their current run is the most successful in the history of college hockey other than Michigan a half century ago. Name me another program other than Michigan that has had a better 10 year run. I don't think you can.

Lake State 88-94 is up there. Denver 58-69. Wisconsin 73-83. NoDak 80-87. Plenty of great 10-12 year runs in college hockey history.

BC 2001-2012: 4 National Championships - 3 in 5 years; Frozen Four: 7 out of 10 years (6 times in the Title game, I believe), 8 HE Titles. None of the runs of the teams you mentioned above, while very good, comes even close to that level of dominance.

I said they're up there. Let's stop with the typical BC arrogance. BC is hardly the only program with a great run.

UCONN and BCU fans can't stay in the same thread for more than a few posts without going into some form of pissing contest. We hate their guts and I am sure they feel the same way. They are those annoying arrogant super fans who has accomplished nothing yet they think they are something.

Here is a pic of what most UCONN fans think of a BCU super fan.

So let me understand this, Husky; you think winning 4 NCs in a decade - 3 NCs in 5 yrs, 7 Frozen 4's in 10 years, and 8 HE titles in a decade is representative of "not having done anything"?

With respect, Uconn and BC fans may hate each other, but most of us recognize the excellence that each school has achieved - Uconn in BB and BC in hockey. Your fellow Uconn fan captured it well when he said he is angry at BC but speaks highly of its hockey success. Most BC fans despise JC, but do acknowledge what he has created at Uconn - even more so for Geno.

You on the other hand take your hatred to such a level that you cannot even acknowledge the absolute excellence of the BC hockey program. To be incapable of recognizing what is a given to everyone else (if you doubt me, just ask BU fans) undermines your credibilty, FWIW.

While I am happy for UCONN in the Hockey East, I never really cared about hockey. Basketball, on the other hand, I do pay a lot of attention to along with much of the population.

I will be watching the game too. It should be a good one. Rent is actually closer to UMASS campus than Gillette. Unlike your little petty neighbor BCU, I actually hope UMASS can develop its program and overtake BCU as MASS' team. UCONN vs. UMASS could develop into something if you guys ever become really good.

Husky, you claim you don't really care about hockey, yet you are the one who started this thread to begin with. Again, BC and Uconn fans could start to mend fences if they at least started to acknowledge the sports they each excel in. Wouldn't you agree?

Oh, and regarding the whole playing Umass subject, BC has played Umass several times the past few years and just signed an agreement to play at least 3 more games. Uconn has seemed to avoid Umass and, after this year's one and done, has nothing lined up for the future, despite Umass overtures.

Who are all the members? I do not know, not a hockey fan, accept when Team USA plays Canada and Russia.

I have a quick question regarding the Hockey East. Do you know what's happened to New Hampshire hockey? They used to be really good but fell off a cliff last year. Seems like with heir resources, they could be consistently good every year. Was last year a fluke, or a harbinger of things to come?

The goalie for the team I work for played at UNH. I am probably going to do an interview with him on Tuesday. I will see what his opinion is.

UNH is fine. They had goaltending issues last year but still finished midpack. This year they're back to playing great hockey. Their goalie is a sophomore named Casey DeSmith. He has 4 shutouts in his last 5 games. UNH's offense has scored 4+ goals in all but 3 games this year. They'll finish in the top 3 in the conference, will make the NCAAs, and will get to play the first two rounds in Manchester probably.
