June Meetings
In light of the meetings coming up I thought we should list all our beat writers that will be covering the meetings. Maybe include their twitter or blog pages?

Some great info in that article. Chris is the best. Can't wait to see if anything comes out of next week's meetings.

Didn't get a good feeling from that article. Having a tough time finding good WAC twitter feeds besides Jeff Caves (https://twitter.com/#!/JeffCaves). But here are some links to local newspapers.

I'm hoping for the best with these meetings on Monday and Tuesday. I'm afraid Liberty will be left behind. Let's hope not for everyone's sakes.

Another potential blow to this WAC idea. Boise State is trying hard to get into the Big West, SD State is lobbying hard for them. If they leave that would bring the total to 4 basketball members (NM St, Idaho, Seattle, Denver). A WAC-Great West merger is a better possibility at this point than some sort of FCS superconference.

RE: June Meetings
Why does losing Boise State matter much? They weren't playing football and their other sports aren't anything to get excited about. I'd rather have them in as opposed to having them out but I can't see losing them as a huge loss for the current football schools or potential football schools.

If the WAC east happens then I'm sure there is no chance Liberty gets left behind... If the WAC Eastern expansion never happens then maybe

To lose yet another member to a conference that has already been hemorrhaging members, is not good news for the WAC's survival. That's yet another spot to fill. Boise St isn't great in bball but they are decent, and they have great facilities and name recognition. They bring some credibility to a conference that is sorely lacking it.

I predict the WAC gobbles up/merges with the Great West/Independents in the short term, in order to buy it some time to sort out the football side of things. That includes: CS Bakersfield, Utah Valley, Texas Pan American, Houston Baptist, and Chicago St.

HBU is already headed to the Southland and starting up FCS football. They would have no interest in the WAC.

Doing a lot of searching for coverage of these meetings but I'm not coming up with much. There have been Kiwanis Club meetings with more media coverage than this.

They usually start in the afternoon. Probably most of the work will be done tomorrow as far as deciding future membership. I hope they do it today though

Don't have a lot of faith in this meeting if Liberty rep is not there. Figured Liberty pushing it would be what would get them fired up to continue on.
Hate to say it, but this is Liberty's best shot right now. Maybe for all of us. Would have thought that Jerry Jr would have flown out a whole contingent on one of Liberty's airplanes.
Liberty is not restrained as much as the state schools are.

By the way "Knucklehead" - can't you change your picture to show all the letters. Very disappointed with the "I" and the "Y". Ha,ha.
