We used to make the drive from my hometown of Ft Walton to Pensacola for the original McGuire's when I was old enough to pretend to be 21. It was such a great bar that that you didn't mind that you had no shot at any of the ladies because the Navy officer pilot trainees would all arrive in their dress whites and you had no shot from that point on (this was the Officer and a Gentleman/Top Gun era).
Too bad for me that the one in Destin was opened after I had left the area. Would have been much more convenient and my odds would have increased considerably.
