Tuition at Your School
Troy's is done by credit hour. I believe its 234/hr where a full load is 12 hours and its somewhat normal for people to load up and take 18 hours to get out early. My bill last the semester before last was around 3,500. I'm curious to know the expenses at other schools.

12 hours is full time at Texas State. According to their website tuition and fees for 12 hours will cost $ 3,390.00 this year. Slightly above what it cost when I was there.

University of Denver - 2012-2013

Tuition - $38,232/yr
Room & Board -- $10,818/yr
Fees -- $945/yr
------------------------------------
Direct Costs = $49,995/yr

Of course, only about 25% of DU's students pay full pop. The other 75% are on some kind of discount for academic, financial need or other scholarships.

Last bit I could find showed that 59% of Texas State students are on need based financial aid. Unfortunately I saved for college and was employed, so I paid full price.

15 hours at MT is $3509 per semester. Scarlett Commons which is where most of the atheletes live is $2908. Annual cost without meal plans or books should average $12834 per student athelete.

A 12 hour load at MT will run you $3,377.00 (about $282 per credit hour)

This doesn't include books, room/meals if needed, etc. They also like to slap you with certain feeds based on the class you take - business classes add like $25 bucks an hour, same with nursing, etc.

Not a bad deal, all things considered.

Jesus, I guess I'm spoiled by NC schools.

Tuition is $1,600ish for an in-state undergraduate student at Charlotte per semester. With fees included it is $2,720. It remains the same whether you take 12 hours or 18 (the max allowed).

FIU's in-state total tuition and fees for 2011-12 amounted to $2,306.33 for 12 credits hours. Tuition (which includes several per hour fees as part of the amount) comes to $177.56 per hour, which means $2,130.72 per 12 credit hours. Fees added a total of $175.61 per semester for the 2011-12 year. For 15 credit hours the total in state tuition plus fees would be $2,839.01.

A 15% increase in tuition is expected for at least the next year.

Wonder which of of our areas has the lowest and highest cost of living.

I would think Boca would be high.

In TN we have no state income tax, but I think a lot of that is made up in sales taxes, which would affect students more.

Lottery scholarships are available, and readily attainable.

While I dont know for certain there are lots of housing options in Boca including more then a few lower end apartments right by campus that traditionally have student houseing.

Also no state income tax if FL as well so that helps too. We only have a 6% sales tax.

ULM would have to be among the lowest. Home prices when I lived there were a helluva lot more cheaper than Middle TN.

We're starting to get a lot of Florida and Cali folks (many of them recently retired) here in TN because they can get a lot more out of their cash and savings here.

Back in late 2007 a couple friend of mine sold thier house here for $400K or so, they were able to buy a MUCH bigger NICER house in TN then they had in FL for around 200K. They missed the housing buble by the skin of thier teeth down here

According to this website..... http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/collegeco...ecost.html
ASU's in-state tuition is $5,304 a year.

Denver is 36,936 per year!
Vandy is 40,320 per year.
M.I.T. is 40k
Harvard is 36k

Something's wrong with this picture....
