I understand why you other Sun Belt fans can't see C-USA benefiting from the Dallas market with UNT. When UNT plays a Sun Belt team on T.V. our rating may not be very high in the Dallas market, and the Belt doesn't see an additional benefit in it's T.V. contract. C-USA can enjoy the Dallas market with UNT because they understand that they stand a better chance of drawing viewers, if UNT is playing an established Texas or regional school, like Rice, UTEP, or Tulsa. Our attendance at home against teams like these provides plenty of support. The C-USA offices are located here in the Dallas area. I think they understand the issue.

It's not a knock on our Sun Belt conference-mates, it's just a fact that the Dallas population is much more familar with the programs in the western division of C-USA.

Nothing is set in stone. There is a chance UNT may not even get an invitation to C-USA. I don't like burning bridges, except when it comes to Benson. The other presidents had to know he wouldn't sit well with UNT. Either they didn't care, or they knew we were leaving anyway. I guess we'll find out at some point.

I'm not enjoying the fracturing of the board either.

The UNT situation is actually one of the very few things in this whole realignment farce that makes any damn sense at all.

Now CUSA isn't doing it for the right reasons but that doesn't matter in terms of UNT. It makes perfect sense for UNT.

I'm not sure why you guys are getting your hackles up. You know it makes sense, most logical people know it makes sense.
Nobody is upset with UNT going to CUSA. It seems maybe some UNT posters are upset that no one is upset.

Another thing that seems obvious is that SBC fans posting here have a pecking order of who they would hate to lose and it appears that UNT is not in the top half of that pecking order.

I hate to lose them. But I don't begrudge them because it makes logical sense for them structurally. I do begrudge schools who are chasing a few quick dollars and who have stars in their eyes about a depleted CUSA.

Im very informed Joe, We all know UNT is so far off the main stream dallas/fort worth sports scene it isnt even funny. UNT is irrelevant in that market. Its not a direct attack at UNT or any SBC school. SBC is growing and will continue to grow. I do think CUSA is blind in their logic. Fiu is a smart move if they leave..What most people fail to realize is SBC in current state is stronger than CUSA that remains!! All they have left truely is S. Miss, ECU and Marshall..put ASU,FIU and ULL on the feild and lets see who wins. To me FIU and ASU have best value in this confernece..I actually hope Latech comes back to SBC.

I never claimed UNT was the top draw in Dallas. I said we are as least even with SMU. Any informed person would know that. You'd also know that Tulsa is a good football program in C-USA.

Its not logical for CUSA to do SBC a favour and take a bad football team away in a market that they will never be a significant factor in

UNT is not a bad football team. We were 5-7 last season. Middle of the Sun Belt. One game short of a bowl. Every post you write makes you look more foolish than the last.

It's all sour grapes with you. Our football was dealt one bad coaching hire and someone who was bitter On his way out. You know damn well the ceiling for la tech isn't as high as it is for unt and it makes you angry as hell. I hope utsa does get the invite just to stick it to you. All the other la tech folks have been real nice and you seem to be the only misled one.

Have you been to dfw? Are you an smu fan posing as a latech fan? do you hope to one day pull yourself out of Ruston and buy a house in highland park next to former president bush and shoot the ****? Honestly, what is it that
Makes you fancy yourself as a dfw expert?

Don't let the "Ruston" in his name fool you. He has claimed on other boards to be a native of northeast Arkansas, a fan of Arkansas State, and unfortunately finds himself enrolled at Louisiana Tech (probably because Daddy got a better job in north Louisiana and he was forced to move south).

I don't blame him, actually, as I'm sure he's distraught. Think of it. Supposedly he is now a Tech student, which would (by default) force him to daily come face to face with that BLUEBLOOD BULLDAWG PRIDE and world-renowned ARROGANCE that is a completely foreign concept to him and those from the land of the untouchable Razorback.

We, on the other hand, look upon Pride and Arrogance as badges of honor and respect for our University.

It's cool, RustonCAT. Stay in therapy, and always know...I got your back. 04-cheers

That would definitely screw you up in the head. An Arkansas inferiority complex combined with LaTech megalomania.

You just see the illusion tech fans are in here in Ruston. Most tech fans don't live here they don't see how many students are fans of other schools and go to tech for other reasons than athletics. 99% of students don't choose tech because of athletics!!

As far as where I'm from.born in Shreveport,La and grew up 45 min north of latech in El dorado. 200 miles from Ne Arkansas.

As far as rehab anyone that thinks for a second tech is CUSA bound need to pull up a chair right beside me!!

The guy out there who didn't go to college or at least didn't finish and is driving a truck for Texas DOT or the guy building houses or the one doing IT work who got a tech certification from a private institute with no athletics are people who are very unlikely to ever walk into Ford Stadium. Private schools carry a stigma of spoiled rich kids and those guys aren't likely to jump on that bandwagon. But a state school just up the road? They are willing to take up an invite to go and can be turned into fans.
